Hi Brazen,

Back in the day when I was tending bar our lottery agent would bring us the scratch off tickets before we opened for lunch always giving us a chance to chat at length. He told me the secret to scratch offs was to buy a sleeve. Meaning buy ten or twenty tickets straight away. He said typically there is a winner every 4th or 6th ticket.

My advice:

Don't take web strangers' advice about spending your money.

1) They are strangers, 2) its your money, and 3) they have nothing to lose by trying to get it.

That said, I find it a good idea to have a pot set aside if I want to play. (Swear jar money, mad money, sh--s and giggles money, whatever you choose)

Pick and choose your spots. And when you don't play, toss the money you would have spent in the jar.

Ideas for what might be the best strategy? Got the lotto bug again after like almost 15 years without playing. Never had probs in the past just wasn't on my mind. Decided recently to oh what the hell it.

Burned through about $200 so far. Mostly draw games in FL (Lotto and Fantasy 5 mostly). Not really into MM or PB - the odds just make my head hurt. I bought three $10 scratch off like a week ago and have yet to scratch them lol.
