Yeah, The triples and mainly Pick 4 Quads and some P4 Triples sell out a lot here.

I don't bother playing Pick 3 trips because P3 payout is pari-mutuel.

It's not worth it..Pick 4 however is not pari-mutuel.

When I was living in New York certain Pick3 ( Daily Numbers ) combo's sold out every day. You had to get to the store early if you wanted to make sure you got to play them. Very common thing to have happen. G5

In some states pick 3 triples are sold out almost every day. Really depends on payout limits and some are less than $2 million.

Can't imagine what would happen if players could not pick their own birthday and favorite dates, weren't allowed to play self picks, and the highest PB number is 24 in a $1 billion jackpot drawing.

I'm super late in the discussion, but family members who play the pick 3 and pick 4 daily has frequently said certain numbers were sold out. I know its not the same but they put a cap on the numbers.

Apparently hea in Ga., the Clerkz must not be able to cancel ticketz printed in error..

I once recently caught a Clerk attempting to sneakily get ME to pay for a MM ticket he printed in error somehow earlier that day..

He hid the $10. MM ticket behind my self-pick PB ticketz.. but before I left the premises, I checked my ticketz..Lo Behold there it wuzz..hidden in the back of my Ticketz.

Once in a while a payslip reader machine will not read one of my, mostly perfectly, printed playslips... And the clerk will want to hand it back... I find it interesting that most clerks don't know that, here in Missouri, the playslip reader can read a payslip from 4 different directions... So, I ask the clerk to rotate the ticket, low and behold, the playslip gets read correctly... I even ran across a clerk that did not believe, nor would try to rotate the payslip... Although I've never refused a ticket that was created in error, it's my understanding (but I dont have any proof of it) that if the customer refuses the ticket, the cashier has three choices. Also, I've never had a conversation with any clerk in any store as to what their options are when a ticket is created in error.

I usually use the replay function but after reading the comments here, filled out a play slip with the three pick 4 combos each. The options on the slip are day or evening , how many drawings , future play, type of bet and for how much. I checked evening, straight, $1 on one slip and evening, box, and $1 on the other.

Had no problem and the clerk mentioned the store policy is not to try and play MM and PB call bets; said there were too many mistakes and those tickets can't be canceled. Anot... [ More ]

Since I had my money in the machine, I went ahead and keyed in the numbers I had on my play slip, then, my tickets printed out?

I had a completely different experience in Walmart last week. I had an $18 Florida Fantasy5 winning ticket that I handed to the clerk along with a play slip where I played another 8 lines of Fantasy5. (Cost to me was $8)

The clerk ran the play slip first, and the terminal printed out my eight dollar ticket which she laid on the counter. Usually clerks run the winning ticket thru the terminal first, then they run the play slip. I was OK with the fact that she ran the play slip first as I was

The closest thing like that I have experienced is one time when the machine wouldn't read my playslip. The slip was filled out correctly but it wouldn't read so the clerk had to put the numbers in manually.

Other than that, never an issue.

Quicktrip (gas station in AZ) has the right machine to process play slips quickly. Pleasant experience - in and out in about two minutes. Don't have to worry about having the exact cash amount.

Walmart was the height of incompetency if you hand your play slip to someone to process at the service desk. I did that because I had $4 back on a previous draw. Big mistake to do that at Walmart. It's hard, if not impossible, to cancel tickets in Michigan because about 20 years ago cashiers in metro Detroit were printing the tickets and then cancelling them and pocketing the money for themselves. This happened to me and I found out about it because I never got paid on a $5 win back then. At the time I did not understand why the store wasn't cashing my ticket and found out way later that I had been scammed.

They've also got to sell all the milk before it expires, but they still order and stock it before people show up to buy it. I've never seen an actual line for lottery tickets anyplace other than the news, but apparently it sometimes gets busy enough (or at least it used to) that stores can't print them fast enough when a jackpot gets large. It was one of those quick stop places right off the freeway... Serving pizza by the slice(s), chicken by the part(s) and polish dogs... Customers and staff, what a mess... I stopped going there because of the false marks I was getting...

Where I go now will give me an inch or two thick playslips at a time... The manager even gave me an entire pack of playslips once... And the counter is always clean and staff is always clean...

You wouldn't have that problem if you had a program that printed directly onto a playslip... Although, I have had additional markings when playslips are set on a greasy counter or held by a person behind the counter that has greasy fingers... I even had one grease mark on the highest multiple plays once... Had a heck of a time getting them to admit it was their own greasy fingers that made the mark and correct their own error...

If a lot of people are messing up filling out a playslip it says the playslip has become too complicated to be mitigated easy without prior knowledge. Occasionally i'd imagine even the most experienced has made a mistake. I know I have. If it is occurring that frequently my first culprit would be playslip need to be reworked.

I don't see a problem here where there are very few players (many can t afford it). And most who do get QPs.

One other point I'd like to make....

Each state has it's own data processing network/system for their lottery's. Is the problem you've seen unique to Minnesota? Do you know if it's happening in other states too? The situation described in an above post about a store in Louisiana could be a time saving policy adopted locally by the retailer.

Although most states networks are connected to both PowerBall and MegaMillions, each state has it's own network of computers and terminals. I'm in Fl... [ More ]

Maybe it's a technical/data processing problem that's been created by the large volume of tickets sales due to the very large PB jackpot. A strong clue that that's the case would be if it goes away after the PB jackpot is won. G5

Yes, lately since the jackpots are so high, it's quick picks only at the counter with the clerk. And, they have a stack already printed without the multiplier option. They grab a preprinted ticket from a stack next to the register, and give it to you after you pay. The tickets aren't even bring printed live.

I have kinda heard/seen this. What I have seen is when the jackpot gets this big and people who never play try to fill out a card they never do it right. So if you have a long line and every customer messes up their cards it really slows the line down.

Seems the lottery is going to Quick Picks only.

We tried to get some self pick lottery tickets today and everyone in line was told they are only accepting quick pick plays.

Any self pick play slips were not being accepted.

The store clerk had to punch in all our play slips by hand.

I've seeing this kind of event happening more and more.

Anyone else have issues with play slips or the store refusing to take them
