In OH Rolling Cash 5 , 4 consecutive numbers (out of 5 drawn) has occurred 20 times in 7244 drawings. I realize the RC5 number pool (39) is less than that of MM (70),

If you could rig a drawing there are two reasons to do it. One, as in the case of Eddie Tipton's rigged drawings, would be so that you, or your friends or associates, could win that drawing.

No jackpot winner for the drawing in question, so that doesn't apply here.

The other would be to prevent a winner so that the jackpot increases, leading to more revenue from increased ticket sales.

A very long time ago they were definitely paying attention to Lotto, because they ran ads telling people not to play the diagonals starting at the top corners on the bet slip. My recollection is that each one was played over 8,000 times.

Other than telling players not to play combinations that would reduce a jackpot to $1000 bucks I don't know that there's a practical reason to track such things, but as easy as it is I'd be surprised if they didn't pay some attention.

I would imagine a similar play pattern is happening in your Fantasy 5 game, and across the country in all lotto style games. Many years ago when not many states had big lotto games, Florida had a big jackpot game that people were flying in from overseas to play, people were borrowing on their homes, etc. The lottery said after the game they had about 50,000 plays on 01-02-03-04-05-06 and that combo would have paid each winner about $1,000.

A very long time ago, I sent an email to The NY State Lottery asking them How many lines of Take5 contain this combo - 1 2 3 4 5?

Their answer was We don't track the occurrence of any of the 575,757 possible Take5 combinations as they vary from drawing to drawing ....

What was interesting is the 2 prior draws, PA paid out 46 and 42 4/5 winners and this draw with 4 in a row they paid out 92. Playing consecutive numbers must be a strategy for more people than one might think... wonder how many would hit 4/5 on 1, 2, 3, 4, 9...

In most cases, rigged = lack of basic knowledge of how random works, Have you ever played poker and been dealt a straight? Would that hand be considered rigged?

Consecutive anything doesn't happen often, but it can and does happen in the world of random.
