I'd rather that the powerball sells in the uk but the price and odds remain the same, than that they raise the price to $5 the way megamillions did.

I guess that they're all trying to get more money in. They're just using a different approach. And I'll keep dreaming for $2 rather than for $5.

Probably irritate alot of people if they won it right after joining, without contributing much of anything...lol

Here's a fun fact: in the history of lotteries single winner has been somebody that that didn't contribute much of anything even if they played every drawing up until they drawing they won.

Better off sticking to state games. I usually go for 10 or 20 tickets for the PB , so instead I'll do it all on the 1$ state lottery. It may be less to win but there's a better chance. The winning set of numbers can land in the UK and we're out. Idk how others can't see this. The money doesn't stay in the house, it's going to be spent in another country.

The US taxes income and whether gambling was a full time profession or not, it would have absolutely zero effect on it being considered taxable income. It should be renamed Garbage if it really told you that you could play any lottery anywhere from your home state or from anywhere in the U.S.

Possibly you misinterpreted your search results?

It's been illegal to play lotteries across state and national lines in the U.S. for some time now. Try it with your credit card and see what happens.

The jackpots may not rise as fast as they think. UK players will pay approx $5 a ticket due to the exchange rate. Plus they don't have the cash option.

Actually, you can play the UK lotteries from the US.

I did not see it specifically mentioned, but I am willing to think that this includes UK Powerball with UK payouts.

Google is your friend.

It is absolutely both your and my choice whether to play or not to play almost any game, anywhere.

And that kind of choice applies to almost everything else too.

Well, well, am sure you know that we have players on LP who wait for the jackpot to get to a certain amount, mostly $500M before they buy a ticket.

You never know if past jackpot winners waited for such a time, bought a ticket and won.

There is no difference between them and what you are saying.

They did not contribute anything for the jackpot to get to $500M, but they got in and won.

I think you will need to come up with a different argument

I am so excited about this new development.

I was wondering when will it finally happen.

I don't stand to loose anything. Odds are the same. Ticket price is the same.

For me it's like adding Nevada or Utah to the lottery, I won't throw a fit because of that.
