Being Married To Oneself
Published:
I was watching a television show this morning and a woman 50 years old. Quite attractive and intelligent decided to do a ceremony to marry herself. A personal, committment ceremony, I guess you could call it. She has not met the right man. I know how she feels by the way.She likes her independance and nobody understands her more than herself.
I agree with her. I know that nobody in this world understands a person more than themselves. And I'm my own best friend also. I have seen the relationships and marriages of today and I can understand that you are the only one who can really rely on yourself through good times and bad. I as well have realized that in my life.
Yes , it's good to have friends or roommates, or relationships . But is marriage really necessary anymore. The answer is no, not like it used to be. Independance is the greatest gift of all .

I'm single out of choice. I only agree with "you are the only one who can really rely on..." if you are talking about other humans. Having self-esteem and self-love is important, but believing it comes from a Higher Power and looking to it for guidance is more important or a person will soon get lost. Just my opinion.
If someone marries herself, isn't that "Same-Sex marriage?"
Marital bliss ain't so blissful even with yourself. ;)
Being able to come and go as you please. To travel at the spur of the moment without wondering if the other person wants to go too. The independence and peace of mind involved basically with being a single person.
