Low Blood Pressure

Published:

I have low blood pressure, which is also called Anemia. I can feel very sick at any time if my blood pressure drops. I take iron pills to help me through it. I eat healthy, eat meat, vegetables, protein. Also fruits, and I like pasta and salads. As well I exercise regularly.

But you can still develop low blood, the same as any other medical problem. I wasn't feeling well tonight. I hope that tommorrow is a better day for everyone.

I hope that are your feeling stronger very soon. Juicing has been known to boost the body more so than eating cooked foods. Juicing is powerful because you are not putting any heat to the fruits or vegetables. Get a good juicing machine. Liquid vitamins are guaranteed nutrition. Tabs that dissolve on the tongue or liquid Centrum. Beet juice is grrrrrrrrrrrrrreat for vein health. healthy veins & arteries are the gateway to good rich blood flow. Here is a web site that may help you.

Hi, Elizabeth. Did you hear this from a physician? Low blood pressure and anemia are very different things.   Anemia is from lack of iron in the blood. A good way of getting iron back into your body is to eat foods that contain iron. Years ago people would boil rusty nails and drink the water. I learned that on that show "Dr. Quinn" with Jane Seymour. :-)    Also, don't cook in aluminum pans or pans with Teflon. (which is carcinogenic) Use cast iron skillets. If you have a bad case of anemia, take a supplement. (iron is cheap, but it can be fatal if you take too much, so don't overdose)   Women often experience anemia during their child bearing years, but are usually told they told need extra iron after menopause. Of course, everyone is different.

Often my reading has been 80/60 or lower. Do you know what yours is? (So there's a reason I'm a dizzy blonde. LOL)   It is the opposite of high blood pressure, which is why it is called hypotention instead of hyertension. It's very normal for me since it's significantly better than high blood pressure that leads to a stroke or heart attack. High blood pressure is very dangerous. I'm not a doctor or nurse, but I've had low blood pressure all of my life. Once a doctor joked (after taking it) "Oh, I thought you were one of my living patients" I hadn't eaten all day! If you don't feel well, one way of getting your blood pressure up might be going to the beach to watch the lifeguards! I hope you don't think I am trivializing what you have, since any medical problem is serious. However, low blood pressure is very common and rarely dangerous.

Did you mean to write that your blood sugar drops? (not pressure) That would make you feel very tired. Iron would have no effect on increasing your blood pressure AFAIK, but I might be wrong. Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) is sort of like diabetes (just not as life threatening) because you need to regular your sugar or you will feel sluggish and light-headed. People with diabetes often have hypoglycemia too because their blood sugar goes up & down so much. I know a little about diabetes because some people in my family are diabetics and it's often hereditary. That's another thing I've been diagnosed with! If you have a fresh glass of juice in the morning and eat small meals several times a day, it should help a lot. I know it's easier said than done, since when you are working you only get a couple of breaks. So carry a snack with you like a piece of fruit or a granola bar. I agree with Laverne about juicing, but some veggies/ fruits like carrots or beets have way too much sugar in them. So you can't go wild with them and need to start very slowly, like drinking 2 or 3 ounces at a time until your body adjusts.

Good luck. I hope you feel better soon. If you are eating pasta and have a blood sugar problem, you might want to cut it out for a while to see if it makes a difference or switch to whole grain pasta (which I can't stand) Salads are always good for you. Iceberg lettuce has very little nutritional value, however, so substitute with spinach or romaine if you can.

Laverne, I've heard about juicing for a long time. If I had a juicer I would use it to mix drinks. It sounds like it would be good.
