txtGroups and Lottery Post Team Up to Provide Text Message Lottery Results

txtGroups, Inc. and Lottery Post announced today that they are joining forces to provide instant lottery results to North American SMS subscribers.

The new cell phone text messaging service, called "Lottery Results Mobile Alerts," covers every lottery game played in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and United Kingdom. Other worldwide lottery games will be added soon.

Anyone with a cell phone can sign up for lottery results by sending a simple keyword on their phone. For example, to register for Powerball results, users send the keyword "Powerball" to 89847. The Lottery Post web site contains a list of keywords corresponding to all of the available lottery games.

"Lottery players love the simple and quick signup," said Todd Northrop, CEO of Lottery Post. "Our subscribers fall in love with the service once they realize they no longer need to seek out lottery results in the newspaper, on TV, or online. It's like having an assistant personally delivering the results right after the drawing, and you don't need a computer!"

Minutes after the lottery publishes the lottery results, subscribers receive a text message containing the results. With hundreds of lottery games available, thousands of messages being sent every day, and subscribers spread across dozens of different proprietary wireless carriers, choosing a robust delivery platform was essential.

"txtGroups is partnered with all major US and Canadian wireless carriers and we are committed to providing quality content in a timely matter," said Jennifer Tomblin, VP Sales and Communication for txtGroups, Inc. "We are more interested in satisfying long-term subscribers than a one-time user, which is why we charge significantly less per message than our competitors do for similar services. We also provide excellent customer service and focus on satisfying our subscribers."

"Most subscribers sign up for the lottery service around lottery draw dates but rarely cancel their subscription once they discover the service is so reliable, convenient, and useful," Northrop explained. "People also like the simplicity of having the service cost added directly to their phone bill, rather than using a credit card or bank account. Their personal information stays private."

For more information and joining instructions for any lottery game in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and United Kingdom, go to www.lotterypost.com/results.

I've signed up for this service and love it. I get the results for pick 3 and pick 4 while at work. There are a few people at work who now come to me to get the results. I'm trying to get them to sign up for it too so they will leave me alone, lol.

Thank Todd for the service

Not exactly revolutionary.

We have had that kind of a service from the norwegian lottery company for 4 - 5 years already.

Considering the number of lotteries covered it is revolutionary. The Norwegian lottery doesn't exactly get people outside of Norway that excited like Euromillions.

I just hope a top twenty list of current jackpots can be part of the already very good mobile site. Just go to www.lotterypost.com with pocket internet explorer to see it.

That's exactly right.

It actually took longer than I estimated for someone to post a message like, "Hey!  So-and-so was sending text messages for a long time!"

Seasoned lottery players, and actually even casual players, know that it's a big step to be able to dial up hundreds of various lottery games, to get any combination of them sent to your cell phone within a couple of minutes of the drawing.

Don't worry, dvdiva, there is more on the way.  That top-20 jackpots thing sounds good to me.
