Lots of people spend money and don't win. Why is this guy not winning - a story? What?

In neo-conned Amerika, bank robs you.
Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms should be the name of a convenience store, not a govnoment agency.

This guy spent a lot of money and worked across the street from a guy that won who spent less.  Most losers don't want to go public, but this loser didn't mind sharing his stupidity with the world.

It is best to remain anonymous if you are lucky to win, jealous or nutty people come out of the woodwork. I still think that it's crazy that US state lotteries to require winners to go public. It's totally mad!

"Last year, he spent $30,000 on the lottery"

$30,000 in one year on lottery tickets?  This man has a gambling problem!!  Gosh, if I spend over $20 a week I get concerned that my lottery spending is getting out of control!

Wow! $30,000 is lots of money to gamble with.  So in 10 years that would be $300,000 gambled away!

I know! Every now and then I spend 10 bucks on one drawing and I feel bad afterward. There is no way I could comfortably spend 30 grand in one year.

Anyone who can comfortably spend 30 grand a year on gambling doesn't need to win money. Anyone who can't comfortably spend 30 grand a year on gambling, but spends it anyway is an idiot.

Yeah this guy definitely has some problems, how can he manage to spend $30,000 a year on lotteries when the article says he makes $40,000 a year. I don't blame him for being mad about it, but he shpuld be mad at himself. I personally just spent $15 on lottery today and didn't win, but it was the first time in a couple weeks and to be honest I don't think I'll be playing for a little while after as it is.

Unfortunately, I've met quite a few people like this throughout my lifetime. There used to be this guy that would come into the Rite-Aid where I used to work, and he would spend over $100 on scratch tickets within an hour...he'd come in and buy one, scratch it off, lose, and come back in and buy another one until his money was all gone. Not to mention he rides a bicycle everywhere and doesn't appear very well-to-do, I really felt bad for the guy. There's another person i met more recently because I had been building his website, and I'd be sitting in his office while he's checking a stack of FL Lotto tickets, and he'll get upset because his numbers never win.

I'd enjoy to win the lottery some day, but it's pretty much a game of sheer luck. I usually buy no more than a few numbers about once a week (sometimes even less), because even though the odds of the game are very slim it comes down to this; you'll either win or lose. Don't see much of a point in doing it as a ritual, if I'm goin to win I'm going for the biggest prize, at whatever time seems right. That's why I'm thinking of maybe staying away from the lotto for a while and waiting till Powerball hits Florida in Jan '09. New year, and hopefully some newfound luck? Approve
