As technology and software progress....
If all of the variables could be accounted for, computing the likely outcomes is probably well within the reach of current technology. What makes the process random is the combined influence of thousands of variables, and it will never be possible to know the values of all the variables ahead of time.

Oscar nominated filmmakers are directing lottery documentary
I hope I wasn't misunderstood, Sean. I was actually writing in your defense saying that most Independent Film makers are NOT in it for the money, but are artists. Sure I like special effects, but I think many of the big productions often substitute technology for good writing. I used to frequent small theaters in Boston and Cambridge and saw many fascinating films, both American Foreign and enjoyed a variety of film genres. That was back in the 60s and 70s when I was an intellectual. LOL

What do you think of the new forum pages?
You know Delores, one thing that you should check out is Windows Vista. There are a few reasons: If it is going to become a problem to use the keyboard to type, Vista has excellent built-in voice recognition, which allows you to speak your words, and it will type for you. The technology has come a long way, it it really works great. It would be a good idea to have a computer person upgrade to Vista for you and set it all up -- maybe something like Geek Squad from Citcuit City if you don'

miami or florida
Thanks for the info, Todd. I admit I'm way behind in computer technology. In the 80s I was so far ahead of my generation. I had a computer AND a car phone. Anyone have a time machine I can borrow?

Automated lottery number checker
I believe also, besides the terrific tools that are available here, many state lottery sites may have this technology, as well as a site called **don't post links**.com, but it's been a while since I've been there, I've been here exclusively with the Platinum Membership.

real drawings and predetermined draws
I voted yes only because the technology exists to do so, and the question asks are they capable of doing that - but it is highly doubtful any lottery would ever actually do so. They'd be bringing down a stigma on themselves and every other lottery out there. ok- this is why I saw the technology exists, and this was early 1980's - there were a bunch of bars in Las Vegas that all went in together on a very small scale video poker mega millions type progressive jackpot - a coin played in a p

Poll - RNG, auditors and game fraud
(I'm aware this subject has been addressed before. I beg forgiveness.) Almost all of you know a lot more than I do about computers and programming technology. My general impression as a sub-novice in electronic technology is that no amount of 'oversight', no amount of 'auditing', no legion of disinterested observers could be expected to detect fraud prior to the draw (and probably not following it unless it's painfully obvious) I'll hold off voting the poll until I see how the wind blo

What do Lottery Post members do?
Wow, that's pretty neat, I did a lot of work for Sea-Land (Maersk) myself, but in technology, not aboard. Later, I did a lot of port work, like improving the systems, etc.

Lottery Retailer Errors... cost money?
^^^^ Sorry to burst your bubble bro but,, You are totally wrong on the Japanese, Chinese and Korean thing.. and yes, those are stereotypes. The Japanese are not doign well in the technology department these days, Alot of Korean companies are surpassing Japanese technology. LIke I said, the Japanese are overrated. I've been to both Japan and Korea. By the way, I don't have a square forehead. I have a round face. So does my Japanese and Chinese friends. stereotypes,, steretypes. A
