When did you start playing the lottery?Reply
I started in 1996 to play the lotto and go to the casinos here in oregon. Just megabucks and powerball then in 2010 I added mega millions. But now I only play mega millions and powerball every month and stopped going to the casino. I found that playing the lotto every month is a lot cheaper then going to the casino. I have more money to do things with if I just stick to the multi-state games and forget about my state lotto even though it is big right now for an oregon jackpot.-weshar75

How many lines per ticket can you have?Reply
In oregon you can have five lines for powerball and mega millions but for our state lottery you can have ten because you get two lines for a dollar.-weshar75

I guess Oregon did not catch the fever - I bought a few tickets yesterday at my local grocery store - no line at all! And today at about 3:30pm I bought a few more at a different grocery store - I was the 4th person in the line - and no one else approached the lottery machine before I left. Today's folks were cheerful, polite, patient, and each one wished the others good luck :) I bet the longest lines are at stores where a clerk has to generate the tickets and collect the money. When will I win the lotto??Reply
I went to Seattle and Vancouver and just got back. Canadain lotto are really expensive. I bought 494 lotto one line for 3 US dollars. I also play lotto for Seattle and Oregon. Oregon lotto payout is really small. Anyway, I really like Seattle. Nice people, people don't rush when they drive, great place to live just the weather that isn't nice as compared to California. I really want to move to Seattle and hopefully go to University of Washington if I win the jackpot. That's my plan.

Location, location, location + circumstances + eager ticket buyers = high number of winners. There use to be a store in Vancouver, Washington that had sold the most jackpot winners of any store in the state (for MM and state lottery). A rather scuzzy store but it was located closest to the Willamette River which is the border between Washington and Oregon - and was very very handy to I5 ... so it was the store that Oregonians who wanted to buy MM or state lotto tickets usually went to.
