You're being downvoted mostly because you're factually wrong. The article says the winning ticket was a quick pick. Direct quote from article: His winning numbers were purchased with a Quick Pick, he emphasized. God picked for me, he said, pointing upwards. So, thank you. Has a machine ever malfunction on anyone?Reply
Years ago I took a ticket to five different stores and the machine would not process it. Finally I told the clerk to give me a quick pick. Guess what numbers came out.... the same ones it wouldn't give me . That was weird and not one of those numbers were drawn that night.

You are forgetting the Thrill of knowing your Ticket could be the one. That You were in the right place. If it turns out that the timing was off I would not be that disapointed because I played my own Numbers. If I played a quick pick I might feel different, but I have been working on my System for a long time and seldom use the quik picker.
