Pennsylvania lottery winners to be taxed for the first time
They are across the board raising state sales tax. Stop digging into my pockets! So fed up with Govt taking things at liberty. How can we as state citizens protest this tax? We do have a say I hope? I'm taxed if I make a profit, I am taxed if I buy gas, I am taxed to death...(yup even upon death you are taxed, go figure LOL!)

Relatives fight over estate of poisoned lottery winner
The family of a Chicago businessman who died of cyanide poisoning after winning a $1 million lottery jackpot is disputing a deal he purportedly signed leaving his share of several dry cleaning stores to his wife. In an emergency motion filed Monday in Cook County probate court, the sister of Urooj Khan argued the business assets should be part of his estate and divided equally among his only two heirs Khan's widow, Shabana Ansari, and 17-year-old daughter, Jasmeen, from a previous marriage.

Mich. lottery winner who kept collecting welfare found dead
Didn't she win her $1 million on a lottery TV game show witnessed by thousands of people? The only Lottery related issue relevant to her death is some of her winning were used to purchase the drugs if in fact that was the cause of her death. The fact she won a large lottery prize really wasn't very news worthy until she was arrested and convicted of welfare fraud. Had she been allowed to claim the money anonymously, the Michigan State welfare agency would have still found the fraud and her ar

Atheist converts after mock prayer to win $1M lottery is answered
Oh, ok, so let me get this straight. He knows full well that 20,000 kids are going to die everyday, yet he continues to allow another 20,000 kids to be born, which in turn will die an untimely and horrible death? That's about 8 million every year for how many decades and decades? GOD says: Ok kids...come on...get ready to go today. I know you're going to croak a miserable death in a few short years but it's part of my plan. I know you'll suffer in the heat and disease filled communities fill

Mom of murdered lottery winner speaks
wow wow and wow, I suspected foul play in the begining. Dee Dee moore im sure was partially responsible if not responsible for shakespears death. It seems to me that she already had money if she owned her own biz. Maybe it was going down. One thing that i know for sure is that it all boils down to greed. she was a greedy B@##$$. You know greed never gets anyone anywhere. But look at where it got her. I am outraged, that people would not let this man live his life. she is lower than low and he

Powerball lottery winners talk about hitting the jackpot
Actually it does nothing to see some old dude claim the money. All I see is massive losses due to death taxes; what is it in the multi-million rage, some where around 50%. This guy has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. His enjoyment is going to be limited to an electric wheelchair with side mirrors. I am not looking for some teeny-bopper to win, that would be the opposite. Just some mature person, with an IQ above above a slug. Some one who can have atleast 20 years of

Mom of murdered lottery winner speaks
From Story: I would like to say, 'Why?' Because if she needed money, Abraham would have given it to her, she said. Why? Because, if Moore is guilty, IMO she wanted everything! That's why, nothing complicated here. I just wonder what's taking them so long to file that charge The prosecutor has the option of waiting quite a long time before increasing the charges. My guess is they're still interviewing witnesses, putting pressure on suspects, gathering evidence, etc... Don't forget

Whittaker sued by casino over bad checks
Caesars casino is suing the winner of a $315 million lottery jackpot, claiming he bounced checks worth $1.5 million trying to cover gambling losses. Jack Whittaker, whose Powerball win in 2002 was at the time the largest undivided lottery jackpot, claims he doesn't owe the money. In a filing made in response to Caesars lawsuit, Whittaker said the casino actually owes him money because it agreed to give him a percentage of revenue from a slot machine he developed and to credit his gambling
