So many judge gambling and gamblers. But it does create jobs and lots of tax revenue.
The California lottery donates so much to education. I think I heard Pennsylvania uses proceeds for roads and stuff. It is sad for those losing their jobs. I am originally from outside of Detroit...where they legalized gambling to revitalize the city suffering from the auto market decline.

I love these types of stories!
You will hear some people say dont bet those hardway bets (such as hard 8, hard 10, etc) or dont bet the field bets, they are sucker bets (such as the 2,3,4,9,10,11,12) yet in a heartbeat someone will begin playing and score mad cash on these bets.
A couple guys walked up to the NYNY casino in Vegas last Feb and did very well on just that --hardways and field bets.
