What you all think, about this post. I would made the collection of lottery winnings taxes also SOLELY go into higher education also in the form of grants and scholarships. In other words, lottery money and taxes would be

Should 50% of lottery proceeds be used for homeless and 50% for education?
Is there a correlation between spending more money in education resulting in less homelessness? There are more homeless people today than say 50 years ago when public education and college education cost way less. If you force everyone to get college degrees in order to get any job, is this truely efficient? I don't think ducation budget has any influence on future homelessness. You can solve homelessness with lottery money to improve people's lives. Some homeless people have mental illnesses. W

Should 50% of lottery proceeds be used for homeless and 50% for education?
Why is all the extra money going to education and not 50% for homeless programs and housing? Education isn't getting better. Putting money in homeless programs and housing will make a bigger difference as schools will be funded no matter what and those in K-12 probably already have places to live? Internet also can make education obsolete as if there is a desire you can learn whatever you want online when you have a home to stay in.

Why not let lottery money go into creating jobs for the mean time...??
pumpi, why not let the: $30 Billion dollars a year the USA make from the lottery that goes into education let it, go into creating jobs When the economy comes back up, you let it go back to education pumpi, In some states it goes into education but doesn't stay in education. Some states prmote the lottery as money for education but turn around and practice voo doo accounting and take whateve the lottery puts into education out somewhere else. What does your state use lottery money for ?
Here in Arizona they say it funds education but upon looking deeper into it,proof shows it's placed in the General Fund were the state elected officials figure out how much of it goes to education then else where for state needs. So very little goes to education. Hell the State borrowed money from the Lottery which is funded by the state. Go figure that out!
