The overall odds of the various prize categories in Mega and PB are pretty close, but he amounts of the prizes vary as you noted. For example should one get a 4-0 ticket in PB, it only pays $100, but if you were able to get the red PB with those 4 numbers, it pays $50,000!! In Mega if you get a 4-0 ticket it pays $500 and if you get the Mega Ball with those 4 numbers, it pays $10,000. This is 2 of the biggest differences in the two games. If you hit 3 or 4 balls with no powerball. You still get the multiplier if you played the powerplay. The 5 of 5 is maxed at 2 million no matter which multiplier comes up.

That's the same with Michigan, Ohio and Georgia (Kicker, Booster and Multiplier). All of them have 1x as a Multiplier. It's the chance you take by purchasing that option. I've hit big on every Kicker number, including 1. What I like in Michigan though is that 2x actually has a statistically better chance of dropping than 1x.

The multiplier is a scam. They dont make it perfectly clear that 2nd tier prize is capped at $2M, regardless of multiplier picked. Great if you have a lower tier hit . . . . I guess.

hey all, noticed the multiplier rip off too, I used to play the pb alot too, no longer-one or 2 tickets a draw for me that's it...it was a bit of a let down, to see no more multiplier-as someone earlier pointed out eight dollars isn't much more than 4, but it was exciting when the mulitplier times 5 came up even if all you had was the powerball match..

i know what you are saying....also tonight for powerball they stopped the wheel when the 10 multiplier was way on top so there was no chance of ball landing there tonight...later after a while when they reach their sales excpectations for powerplay they will stop it so its close... i would like to see that multiplier wheel disappear and replaced by a ball machine or other method ...or spin that wheel 5 times faster than it spins currently....whos to say that they cant stop it at some particular

We see what we expect to see a lot of the time, thinks I.Powerplay's the multiplier for Powerball.... went from a long advantage for being 5 to about equal shots for all the multiplier numbers.Jack
