Probably to encourage additional purchases (thus revenues) by having more lower tier winning tickets in the prize pool. I think most people who win lower tier prizes just purchase more tickets. While I would hate to win anything less than the face value of a ticket, I guess it beats not winning at all.

The LFL series is doing well. I noticed they re-ordered another batch for the $1 game - added one top prize + corresponding lower tier prizes (6,000,000 additional tickets to the game pool).

yea i noticed that. the way he says we did it maybe its a pool of players or something and split that many ways 20K isnt anything special? strange. it kills me all of the people online that post videos of losing tickets. its nice to see a big win finally on video

Yup, that's part of it. On Friday, I made a specific request for data going back two years for number of 2nd chance submissions each winner made to both the end of game and quarterly scratcher pool drawings. I'm expecting to see both super lucky winners and those that enter thousands of tickets for each game/draw. If I receive the requested information, I can calculate the mean and standard deviation.

How many people in the pool? Will everybody have to be in the same room when the scratching happens, etc...? Don't allow anyone to throw tickets away, rip them, etc... Every ticket should be scanned and have the terminal validation--win or lose--on file, just in case.....I mean, it seems like a pretty cool idea---fun.... I guess my Scorpio tendencies are to not trust anyone, though! Ha!!!!!

FL - Billion Dollar Buster question (BDB).
If I am reading it right, this scratcher game started 02/24/2009 ? I mean did they add additional tickets into the available system. I know CA adds more rolls into the pool half way down the time line. Thanks

Well on my way home from pool league. I stopped off cashed in my Wheel Of Fortune winner from earlier today and pick up a $10.00 Limted Edition $200,000,000 Cash Spectacular ticket 013 $10.00 winner.......

I'm right behind ya there omiller, Let someone else be what I call the pushers of passing the losers. I am just going to observe from afar for awhile. Been seeing patterns so I will follow that idea and when the moment strikes I may dip in the ticket pool again and try my luck. FOr now my money is going to the horses :)

dam james1 that sucks people usually do good on the 3$ orange crossword puzzles 33 is alot for nothing but 35 bux, im an avid lotto player but i just dont have the same budget as you, you should consider starting a lottery pool, getting more people to play tickets with you can buy twice as many tickets and take less of a loss, you just gotta find smeone u can trust and that plays as much as you, just a consideration
