Lottery ticket sold in Illinois wins $560 million Mega Millions jackpot
Great points taken. Didn't quite understand about different noises that machines make then say that thermal printers are silent. My home state was the last (MA) to get rid of noisy, dot matrix printers. Not sure where the machine that printed that $787 or so million dollar ticket from near W. MA went, but she was making tghe rounds years ago. I agree with you on CA lottery and Todd reminded me of their law for pari-mutuel payouts. Had sent an email vs regular mail months ago asking them to g

Florida man arrested after buying $31,000 worth of lottery tickets using company credit card
Same here . In my state(Louisiana), it is not legal to buy lottery tickets with a credit card. Is it legal in Florida? Did he win any big prizes or was he sending in large numbers of tickets for second chance drawings? I don't feel bad for him since he stole from his employer and used a credit card which could be easily traced. He'll be locked away for a while.

lottery groups
Well, that's debatable. Personally, I don't believe the best way to get into any lottery drawing is with a group. The draw of the lottery, especially a game like Powerball, is winning a massive pile of life-changing cash. Getting into a group with perhaps dozens of others takes away the risk/reward ratio that Powerball offers. Really, if I wanted to have better odds of winning a smaller prize (think less than $5 million), I would play my in-state Cash 5 game. I don't need to worry about the

Arkansas woman sleeps with lottery tickets under pillow, wins $2 million Powerball prize
* Just some advice rcb, place your tickets in a zip lock bag, all that tossing turning could render your tickets unreadable. I'd hate to read that you locked in a legal battle over a half a billion dollar payout with the lottery organization.

U.S. Postal Service worker pleads guilty after caught stealing cash and lottery tickets from mail
The NY Court is going after President Trump for an alleged crime that the Feds declined to pursue. Elevating a business records misdemeanor to a federal crime for an alleged undisclosed underlying crime is not going to hold up on appeal. All businesses choose to settle some internal matters and threatened litigation and it is noted as legal expenses accounting wise. So yes, NY does play...but foolishly.
