I've no doubt something screwy has been going on since they both raised the starting jackpot and raised the price the few and many years ago of course, proving it is an all together different animal in a sense if memory serves me correctly, thars been at least least 2 matrix changes and a couple of dollar a piece tack ons such as the multiplier and the double play

You good scratcher fans encouraged me to go all out this year for Christmas. I bought 1 book of $30(#1891) and 1 book of $20(#1962) for the annual TN Christmas Scratch Fest (total of $900) .The Mrs took the even numbers and I was left with the odd...... Sooooooo we were scratching along on the 15 tickets of the $20 book, not much was coming in. You knooooooow, the usual Free Ticket or a $20/$25....and what does the Mrs scratch off ?? Powerball Powerplay 10X
Compared to Mega Millions, Powerball is stingy with the multiplier. If you want to maximize your lotto losses during your lifetime, then increase your ticket cost with the powerplay. Buying the same play for the same draw multiple times is an even better way to maximize your lotto losses.

$1.76 billion Powerball jackpot won by one ticket sold in California
I never get drawn into the hype regardless of the amount on offer I always buy one PB with power play and one MM with the multiplier. I will try the after taxes amount and add an extra ticket for every 100M under the cash option and not annuity. Best of luck too in tonight MM if you have a ticket for that

Where to view megaplier/power play for the next draw ?
Watch the PB drawing . And a MM drawing. The multiplier was drawn before drawing 5 + 1. Can't find if the megaplier is drawn at a different location but until I see something different, I'll believed RCB.

thoughts on lottery syndicates
So for each draw we could potentially buy 41 tickets . . The MM odds of winning something are 1:24 and the two most likely prizes pay a max win of $20 are matching 1+1 and/or $10 matching 0+1. You'll probably need multiple wins or a $10 win with a 5 multiplier just to break even. The odds of matching 3+`1 are 1:14,547 to win $200 or possibly $1000, but you'll have to split that with nine other players. For the same $1000 you could get twice as many chances of winning the jackpot, but jac

First $25 million scratch-off lottery prize claimed in Massachusetts
It seems extremely high... maybe they are using the annuity value of the top prize(s) in their calculations rather than the cash value. . . Nope.. I got 83.7% using face values ($1,265,560,000) and 81.38% when using a .65 multiplier for cash from annuity ($1,230,560) (7,375,193 prizes from up to 30,240,000 tickets available.. max revenue $50 x 30,240,000 = $1,512,000,000)
