Lottery Raffles
I wish it were modeled after the EL GORDO...that seems, from what I've read, to be as good a chance as any to win anything worth a crap. And you have a decent shot at winning a ton of money.

What is the largest Jackpot ever?
I think you are talking about El Gordo. El Gordo has a bigger prize but is divided in such a way that a town wins not one person. There is no equvalent anywhere else and it's not a jackpot game like Powerball, Megamillions, etc. Powerball got generous and gave 48.5% toward the jackpot so a record pot would be equal to Euromillions at 451 million. It would take 4 rollovers to get to 465 which would top the prize. Megamillions usually drops down to 58% for large prizes so a Euromillions priz

mega millions and powerball jackpot poll
A lot of people were aiting and waiting for California to come into MegaMillions. When it did, they added more numbers, top and bottom, and the odds increased from 140,000,000:1 to 176,000,000:1. Whoop tee do. The US should take a hint from Spain's El Gordo and have a lot more winners instead of one mega-winner.

El Gordo winners
In the US you just get to share your jackpot with Uncle Sam. That's our version. Otherwise it would be called a 2nd tier prize since that's about the same level as the highest amount in El Gordo.

El Gordo winners
Bradly, does this mean the El Gordo is drawn a 5 digit number from 00000 to 99999 in a ticket? When the first prize was won, it is worth exactly $360000 US or 360,000 in Spain's currency?

Uncle Sam Wins Your Lottery
Good thing Canadian (and other countries') winners don't have this problem. BUT, our US Jackpots on average are much higer than what those countries have (El Gordo is an exception that comes to mind) Viva La USA BABY lol

NY King Kong Millions online game
Is there only going to be those few large prizes? So your odds of winning will be like 1 in 1 million? If they are they should of made the game more like the Spainish Lottery El Gordo or whatever it is called with odds of better than 1 in 10 i believe.Brad

biggest jackpots ever
El Gordo has the world's largest payout in one day, but not the biggest jackpot. The biggest jackpot ever in the world was $363 million for The Big Game (the former version of Mega Millions) in May, 2000. It was split by two winning tickets (one in Michigan, and one in Illinois). Jack Whitaker was the largest single jackpot winner in history, of a $314.9 million Powerball jackpot on Christmas, 2002. He took the cash option, which amounted to a $113 million lump sum.Hope that helps.
