Lottery Post's guide to 2023 holiday raffles across the USA
I tried the LP link for El Gordo and received this message. Does anyone have a link to play in NY? It looks like you're in New York. You cannot sign up from your current location. Thank You.

Do you pay your lottery subscription by Direct Debit?
Just to be clear (since it was brought up), I do care what happens in other countries, and you'll notice our news section contains a rather large percentage of stories that are about other countries. It's important to keep an eye on what happens with regard to the lottery in every country (not just the USA) because we all have to learn from each other what works and what doesn't. That being said, it is also important to understand that there are cultural differences between countries, so wha

U.S. Lotteries should learn from El Gordo. Check and double check to make sure it was correct....the first time. Congrats to all participants! Ol !

The legendary luck of this Spanish lottery shop keeps El Gordo players coming back
don't you have to be a citizen of Spain to collect a jackpot win for the EL Gordo? I remember reading a story about an American who hit it about 10 years ago. Spain refused to pay.

The largest lottery jackpot in the world is: NOT in the USA
Great, the prize pool is all prizes combined. The top prize of El Gordo is not 2,3bil, its 4M that many, many people share. http://www.christmaslottery.co/spanish-lotto-prizes.html

Would you support an American El Gordo?
'El Gordo' is also a Fat One for the Spanish Government The tax on this year's Christmas lottery prizes will generate 188 million euros for state coffers, according to tax inspectors union Gestha. The Spanish government will also get 30 per cent of the revenues from ticket sales, less the running costs, meaning the state will collect around 900 million euros from the draw.

African migrants win big in Spain Christmas lottery
I really like this story. I'm sure others will grumble but I love these types of lottery winners; to have someone going from the pit of despair, desperation and poverty to having something amazing change his life forever? Doesn't get much better than that. Very much like Quang Dao of the Nebraska 8. He too was rescued from a boat after fleeing Vietnam and he too won as part of a group. I wish Ngame (is it just me or is the spelling of his name kinda fortuitous, like Usain Bolt), good luck and ha

African migrants win big in Spain Christmas lottery
About 35 African migrants, including at least one rescued at sea from an overcrowded wooden boat, are among the top prize winners of Spain's Christmas lottery, according to the owner of the lottery agency that sold more than 1,000 tickets that shelled out 400,000 euros (US$438,000) each. The winners who bought the tickets in the southern coastal city of Roquetas de Mar included migrants from Senegal, Mali and Morocco, agency owner Jose Martin told La Voz de Almeria newspaper in a story publis

Let me get this straight. The Lotter allows people from all over the globe to play USA lottos?
You're really getting your panties in a wad over nothing. The guy hired a butler service to walk into a store and physically by a ticket. He got lucky. And you didn't. Neither did I. So, try again next time. Or don't. Whatever. When my daughter was studying abroad in Spain a few years ago, she could have bought an El Gordo ticket. Or a Euromillions ticket. Oh, and there aren't 2000 winners each time because the odds are really high. They don't even come close to selling all the combination

Anybody Playing El Gordo This Year ?
SG ... I do agree with you that El Gordo tickets seem to be expensive ... but then people buy shares and maybe shares of shares ... not 100% sure. I priced some tickets a few years back through a lottery agent but didn't buy any. I do not fully understand the whole game and buying ticket shares. Looks like Europe or Spain has some fun once a year playing the game and some people or a town get very lucky ... except for the few people or one person who decided not to play. CW
