For better or worse, I think most winners play themselves. They perceive they are in some competition with others and convince themselves the way to win is to out spend them. Saddest thing is these winners is the others don't even know they are in a competition. They are happily living their life while big winner is trying to prove something to himself. I totally agree with you. But on the math side, if they contribute $2 each per drawing. That's 30 tickets a drawing and 90 tickets a week.
