A verbal Lottery joke agreement wouldn't hold up in Court, would it?
So, there was an article about what NOT to do if you win the Lottery or will win the Lottery. One of the tips was something like, Never joke, about giving someone a cut of your winnings if you win the Lottery because they could sue you for your winnings if you do. For example, never jokingly, say to your to your Friend, Tom, if I ever win The Powerball 1.5 Billion Jackpot, I'll give you $20 Million, but I'm sure I'll never win it, it's a 1 in a 1.5 Billion chance. I was just using that as an example. Also if they had agreed to different terms ahead of time the shares could be anything. So long as a verbal agreement can be validated or they have a written agreement, they could of split things in any proportion they had wanted. If 17 people had a lotto group and won it could be split, 20, 20, 20, 10, 10, 5, 5, with the last 10 receiving 1% each. Millions of ways to split a win if all parties agree a head of time. You Don't understand. The store is Liable for all the unsold mega millions and Powerball ticket and also the store is the winner if such unsold ticket wins. It has happened before and the Judge ruled in favor of the store. Unless the store and the lottery have a different Agreement. This is currently the basic agreement policy The store pay for purchased and unsold tickets and the store keeps the prize if it wins . So employees know this rule it's simple unless the store and lottery change this
