Alabama Lottery bill falls short by one vote
The senate keeps voting against it. The people of Alabama should get to vote on it. Especially as it's Election year this year.

Nearly 68 million US adults plan to wager on Super Bowl
I don't do sports wagering. Glad that somehow this passed last May in Kentucky. Remember a year ago November the TV news interviewed me on my thoughts of the subject. Said it is stupid folks traveling to other states to wager; they're going to do that. Somehow resonates with Alabama not getting a lottery! Looked @ the machine Saturday and months earlier some guy was trying to explain it to me. Guess I'm just dense, it looks like a foreign language to me. Watched a superbowl show from the

Texas Lottery Executive Director Gary Grief announces retirement
I admire him sticking it out as long as he did. Remember some politicians wanted to get rid of the lottery altogether! They draw pick 3 or Pick 4 four times/day except for Sundays. Are there Indian tribes in Texas? If so, they could open their own casinos like they have in other states where casinos aren't necessarily legal...Alabama for one...and still no lottery there!

Mississippi Lottery passes $2 billion in gross sales
Played their lottery in Biloxi finally. Noticed they just added Double play to Powerball. A letter was mailed to them to compliment on them getting a lottery because they did not rush into it and memory says they thoroughly researched other lotteries before starting. Mentioned before, I think about WDRB interviewing me a year ago November regarding sports betting in Kentucky. I don't do that but mentioned folks will just go to neighboring states to bet. It did not pass, then suddenly it went

Actually, there are 5 states that do not sell any lottery. Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah.

VIDEO: Is a Nevada Lottery in the cards?
Too bad it has to go through all this rigmarole when the voters should be getting the option. Probably 20 years ago now where Alabama had signs to vote the lottery in. when them old geezers die off (they live forever) then it might stand a chance. I still applaud Mississippi on their lottery like I said before they did their homework and one casino in Biloxi that we visited sold lotto on their property (Harrah's) Good luck on this one Nevada.

New Mexico lawmakers introduce bill to end lottery
Lawmakers cite concerns over gambling-funded education By Kate Northrop A bill introduced to New Mexico state legislature proposed the idea of ending the New Mexico Lottery entirely. Lawmakers in New Mexico are discussing a bill that may shut down the state lottery, citing concerns about where money for the state's scholarship fund comes from. We're funding education through gambling, State Representative Matthew McQueen (D) said. Bipartisan House Bill 369, if passed, will en

Florida Fantasy-5 Players
I've never been to Crestview, but Google Maps shows it being in The Panhandle west of Tallahassee not too far from The Florida-Alabama border. I have to believe it's rural out there. It's my guess that there are not a ton of lottery tickets (much less big winning tickets) sold in that area each day. (unlike the the number of tickets that are sold every day in Miami or Tampa and those cities don't see winners like that) I dunno know but my sixth sense says something is up with those three FF5
