Depression and the Lottery
Playing the lottery may be the only entertainment some low income folk can afford. $1 or $2 a ticket may be just what they need. Every human is entitled to fun, aren't they?

Is there a such thing as luck ? Can the lottery be beaten at its own game
I've come to the conclusion that lottery is rigged, in luck doesn't exist can anyone prove me otherwise ? I don't know if the lottery is rigged or not, because I don't have any evidence to support that claim, as such I can't pursue that argument. However, from all the times that I have won small amounts, I can confidently say that luck was at play. I don't use any systems (other than a budgeting system where I set aside a monthly lottery entertainment budget that I stick to) I don't

Have your Lottery-Playing Habits Changed?
The only game I ever had good success was Pick 3, and to a lesser degree All or Nothing. But when Tx went to 4 draws a day I quit Pick 3 because playing 4 draws a day would make the cost to play too high to have a chance to win more than lose. With jackpot games, the odds are way too high, even games like Cash 5, to make any consistent profit, and for any system be consistently successful. So these days, I play jackpot games for the entertainment and hope to catch the big win. Back in t

When is the right time to hang your lottery boots?
I have read posts about people who have been playing the lottery for 20, 30, 40 years or even more. Some say, I don't play as much as I used too, etc. I know the lottery is supposed to be some form of entertainment. However, have you ever felt like, well, maybe it's time I hanged my lottery boots and accept that I will never win a jackpot? Have you ever had such thoughts cross your mind?

If the Lottery was Honest
Who doesn't know playing the lottery is a suckers bet? Everything Roger said is true, but I play anyway. Do I hope to win big? Absolutely! Do I expect to win? Nope. I play for the entertainment value, and oh yeah, occasionally I win 20 bucks. And I can definitely afford to spend a lot more money on tickets than I do, but I refuse do that. For me it boils down to a having a little fun, and then of course there's this - If I aint in it, I sure as Hell cant win it! G5 PS My wife drink

Have your Lottery-Playing Habits Changed?
From the is gambling rational page........... So presumably, one of the most interesting gambling-related questions of all is why the majority of gamblers gamble at all and why most of them continue to do so despite the fact that they lose money on average. Whatever happened to I'm having a little fun and entertainment by buying lottery tickets ? That's all I'm doing, and if I win a few bucks, that's great, but if I don't, who cares? And who knows? I might win a massive pile of mon

When is the right time to hang your lottery boots?
That's why they say only play what you can afford to loose. Also look at it as a form of entertainment. I like to use the sport analogy. Say for instance you support a certain team and they have never won the Super Bowl, or an NBA championship etc. If you are a die hard fan, you won't ditch them for that, you continue to cheer the team on and who knows maybe one day they will win a major championship. It's the same with the lottery, PB, MM, etc are the teams, and we cheer the

Why do you want to win the lottery?
I play the lottery for a little entertainment...and oh yeah, I'd like to win a big pile of cash too. I want wealth because having more than enough money represents freedom. If you're wealthy, your wealth gives you options that many other people don't have. I'd like to be debt free. Because I haven't been debt free since I was a kid, I'd like to remember what it's like not to have to think about whether or not there's there's enough money in the checkbook to cover all the bills each month
