Creating an iPhone Section
Do a google search on Apple Developer and you should have all the information you need. The iPhone approval process takes a few weeks. But once you sign up as a basic mac developer, which is free by the way, you get access to everything. The iPhone approval lets you actually install a native application on the physical device for testing. So, before you are approve you must test on the iPhone simulator, which is this iPhone looking application.

New Lottery Post iPhone/iPod Touch edition
I have just launched a new edition of Lottery Post for iPhone and iPod Touch users. Because the new edition is built especially for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch, it can only be used with those two devices. (Although technically it will work with the Apple Safari web browser, version 3.04 or greater, on any device or operating system.) The new edition launched with two main features: lottery results and quick picks. The interface closely follows Apple's guidelines for iPhone applications

Why Can't you "copy & paste" into Reply Window?
Stats, as much as I do like my iPhone, I HATE using it to read The LP. I'll use it in a pinch but that's it. What I didn't tell you is I still have and love my iPhone 8. Talk about using an ancient device but I don't care what anybody says or thinks about it. I sometimes look at my wife's iPhone 12 (I think it's a 12) but I've yet to see anything it does that's such a game changer that I'd give up my iPhone 8. All I ever do is make and receive phone calls, text, read my e-mail, check my cal

New Lottery Post iPhone/iPod Touch edition
OK, just wanted to be sure. The thing I've found with mobile devices, having owned and used a lot of them, is that they work best for simpler, more general functions, which don't require a lot of input. The iPhone, as well as some mobile devices with full keyboards, do improve on the ability to enter and manipulate information while on the road, but they still have shortcomings that make it so you don't want to do anything complicated unless forced to. The main limitation is the limited sc

Creating An iPhone App Section?
I can understand viewing Mac computers as being in a niche market (since they are relatively expensive compared to PCs), but with over 1 billion apps downloads(although many free) in roughly in 9 months, the iPhone platform is hardly a niche, it's quickly becoming mainstream. If the prices continue to come down and the 3.0 Release addresses some of major deficiencies that the product has since launching, it's going to be difficult to ignore. I have over 22 years of programming experience (C/Unix

Site Updated Today
I'm happy to announce that I installed the latest site update this morning (Saturday, June 5), and after a few initial kinks, everything should be working smoothly again. The biggest changes involve searching the site and the premium mobile editions. The list of changes include: Added All tab to the Search page, to globally search the site using Google as a search engine. All other tabs on the Search page are still there and available for in-depth searching. Google tends to highlight m

Site-wide improvements implemented last night and today
I hinted at it in an earlier post about an error message some people may have seen because of the upgraded text editor. I have been working very hard to wrap up the improvements installed and de-glitched over the past day. These are changes that have been in the works for months. It is not a simple task to keep a web site with this much traffic performing smoothly and quickly, which is why many of the improvements to the site are focused on performance and ability to handle more traffic. iPhone users now get smooth scrolling
The Lottery Post iPhone Edition now has smooth scrolling built-in, which does a much better job of simulating the smooth motions of built-in applications in the iPhone. (Works with the iPod Touch too.) After playing around with the pages on my iPod today, I personally find them much easier on the eyes. I hope you enjoy it too!

Creating an iPhone Section
With the tremendous growth of the iPhone as a mobile device and the availability of numerous applications dealing with lotteries, would you be interested in creating a section at the Lottery Post to discuss these native and web applications. In case you are not familiar with the differences between a native and a web application, a native application resides on the device and may occasionally connect to the network to retrieve information. A web application on the other hand, is totally dependen
