I live in a state, Louisiana, where lottery tickets aren't available in vending machines. It would be a little more convenient than waiting in line to get my tickets, but Louisiana hasn't caught on to that it seems.

Maximum prize on a scratch off is $200,000 and losing tickets can enter in a second chance drawing of $1,000,000.The highest price I've seen in Louisiana is $10. I'm actually going to miss it, but I also grew up watching game shows on daytime TV(which were alot better than the courtroom and talk stuff that's there now). I didn't like the first incarnation of the show, with Bob Eubanks, but I do like Instant Millionaire with Todd Newton. I think he's a better host than Bob Eubanks, and the show isn't as random as the Bob Eubanks show was(i.e. it is possible to devise a strategy for the games that reduces the randomness a little, though not by much).

Scratchers - counter or vending machine?Reply
I have seen vending machines for scratch off tickets in Syracuse, New York and I found it kind of strange. The only way to get scratch-offs or any other kind of lottery ticket here in Louisiana is at the counter. It may not be legal in some states to sell them in vending machines, to keep away the underage gamblers. In New York, lottery scratch-off vending machines are legal but cigarette machines aren't while here in Louisiana, scratch-off vending machines aren't legal but cigarette machin

I'm disappointed the show is going away. I admit I didn't like the first game show with Bob Eubanks, but I did like the show in Las Vegas with Todd Newton. He's a better host than Bob Eubanks IMHO. I used to buy the tickets every week and when I got entries, I'd send them in. I've been sending them in for a few years now and never got picked to be a home player or to go on the show. You're welcome. When I play scratch offs, I try to focus on certain games, preferably the ones that have the most winners, which I determine from the Louisiana Lottery Android app. I may start trying other stores to see what I get. I usually buy more than one at a time. Not sure if going to different stores will help, but maybe I'll try some others to see what happens.
