Alabama lawmakers sick of indecision following years of debate

A bill to authorize a state lottery and casinos in Alabama failed by just one vote, the closest the state has ever come to enacting a state lottery since 1999.
One vote made the difference in the Alabama legislative session, resulting in voters just barely missing out on seeing a lottery question on the ballot this year.

Ireland Lottery advertising claims under scrutiny
The Ireland Lottery has been told by an ad standards body to be clearer over claims that 90 per cent of National Lottery money goes back into the community.

New Jersey Lottery will begin selling tickets online
While some celebrate the move toward digital convenience, in-person retailers bite back

The New Jersey Lottery has announced that it has voted to approve selling tickets online.
During a meeting on Aug. 17, the New Jersey Lottery Commission announced its decision to start selling tickets directly to players online.
The change applies to its popular draw games, such as Mega Millions, Powerball, and Jersey Cash 5, but it will not include scratch-off instant games.
