WBAL Radio has learned that Buddy Roogow is leaving the Maryland Lottery. He has accepted the post of Executive Director of the D.C. Lottery and Charitable Games.
David Umanski in the office of the CFO for the D.C. Lottery tells WBAL Radio that after a nationwide search, Roogow was the superior candidate for the post.

Washington's Lottery is rolling out a scratch-off ticket with the Seattle Seahawks, now that the NFL owners have agreed to allow team logos to be used on lottery tickets.

Washington Senate passes Powerball bill
The Washington state Senate has passed a bill that would let the state join the multi-state Powerball lottery game.
The bill passed on a 35-12 vote Tuesday and now goes to the House for consideration.
Washington state already participates in the Mega Millions multistate lottery game. Currently, 30 other states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands have Powerball.

One lottery ticket sold in Washington, D.C. matched all 6 numbers in the Wednesday evening Powerball drawing, and is now worth $144 million to the lucky ticket-holder.

Washington Lottery may add Powerball to lineup
Washington lottery players may soon be able to buy tickets for the Powerball multi-state game at their local grocery, deli or convenience store.
A proposal that will be heard before the Senate Ways and Means committee this afternoon would allow the Washington Lottery to link with other multi-state games without getting Legislative permission first.
