Rare mid-week increase spurred by massive sales
Mega Millions lottery players across the United States are pulling out the stops for tonights drawing, which now stands as the largest Mega Millions grand prize in 2 years.

Michigan church wins $70,000 in lottery
Divine intervention? Or just plain luck?
No matter what the circumstances, a Michigan church is $70,000 richer courtesy of the Michigan Lottery.
The Covenant Life Worship Center and its 25 members in Haslett, Mich. had one of the second-prize tickets in the Lucky 7s raffle held May 4.

AR Lottery spokesperson: Wrong salary set for security chief because of Web page error
Arkansas lottery spokesperson Julie Baldridge claimed Wednesday that Grant County Sheriff Lance Huey was hired at what lottery staff members believed was the midpoint salary grade because a state Web site listed the salary as such.

Online poker group says gov't seized $30M in player payouts
In the latest skirmish in the battle over Internet gambling, online poker advocates say the government has frozen more than $30 million in payouts affecting thousands of players.
The Poker Players Alliance released a statement Tuesday claiming that the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York instructed four banks to freeze accounts belonging to online payment processors. Ark. Lottery Commission Web site launches Monday
The new Arkansas Lottery Commission has been in operation for a little more than a week, and on Monday its own Web site will go live.
The URL for the new, not-yet live site is: www.LotteryCommission.Arkansas.gov.
At publication time, entering that address into one's Web browser displays an under construction message.

Kentucky blocked from seizing gambling domain names
Kentucky may not seize 141 online casinos' Internet domain names in an attempt to block them from operating within the state's borders, a three-judge appeals panel ruled.
In a 2-1 opinion Tuesday, the Kentucky Court of Appeals panel said an Internet domain name is not a gambling device. That left the Franklin County Circuit Court without jurisdiction in the matter.
