Lottery officials to name $86M Powerball winners
Who won last week's Powerball jackpot? That's the $86 million question and Pennsylvania lottery officials have the answer. Officials plan to announce the winners at a news conference Friday at lottery headquarters in Middletown. The winning Powerball ticket was sold at a Turkey Hill convenience store in Lancaster County. The jackpot from the Aug. 2 drawing is worth an $86.3 million annuity or $42.5 million cash minus 25 percent in federal taxes.

New Penn. Lottery 5-digit game on sale Aug. 26
The Pennsylvania Lottery's latest game is the 5-digit numbers game, Quinto, offering 13 ways to play and win up to $50,000 cash. Drawings will be held both at midday and evening, seven days a week. Tickets for Quinto will cost $1 each. The new game is played similar to Pick 3 and Pick 4 games, except with Quinto there are 5 positions for the numbers 0 through 9. Scientific Games wins Pennsylvania Lottery contract

GTECH awarded Pennsylvania, West Virginia lottery contracts
Lottomatica SpA said its wholly-owned subsidiary GTECH has been told by the Pennsylvania State Lottery of its intent to award GTECH a 5-year contract to provide online and instant integrated services. The proposed contract, which is expected to kick in in January 2009, includes five 1-year extension options exercisable at the Lottery's discretion.
