i think it wouldn't be worth it to rig a drawing. if you rig a drawing for a single lottery, you face charges and jailtime in that state. if you rig a game that is operated by that many jurisdictions, think of the jailtime.

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

If the game is rigged, then why have there been seven jackpot winners so far this year?

Mega Millions has had only three jackpot winners this year so far, and nobody accuses that game of being rigged.

I don't have any opinion on the subject.

Just wanted to know if there existed some statistical circumstantial evidence.

There are very few things left in this world that I believe are totally honest and untouched by the fingers of corruption. As a born skeptic, I am leery of most politicians, lobbyists, the medical and pharmaceutical community, the insurance industry, the prices charged by most dentists,  lawyers, and funeral directors ...and why the cost of college tuition is rising much faster than the rate of inflation.

Why is that; and where do all those tuition increases go?

Having said this, there is one thing left on this planet that I trust as far as being honest and fair in it's operation and reported results. As long as the drawings remain mechanical and are televised to the public, I continue to trust Powerball and Megamillions (and their respective drawing machines) without the slightest doubt ...in other words, implicitly.

... the lottery never fails to surprise!

It would be hard to rig a lottery game that is aired on live tv.

Even if I win, I will still believe what I believe today. I just would not care about the issue so much anymore. As I said in the past, real people do win.

Some people don't exactly understand that, and continue to ask, "But if you think it's rigged, why do you still play?"

could be rigged, you see balls juggling, then one coming out down below, from the juggling you don't see the exact route.also if it was random, once in a while you should have like 5-25 winners of the biggy, not just one or 2.

The odds simply do not favor 5-25 winners of the biggy.  That's just the way the odds are "rigged."
