Scroll up to where you had previously posted subtracting 1 from each digit & finish. Please post.

You must complete the first step correctly before you can continue to step 2.

Laverne, In the first example, I stopped at 700 doing -111 for each digit until I come back to 255 correct? Now when I reach 367 and subtract -111 = 256 so I make the 3rd digit -112 instead in order to come out to the original draw.. Now, tell me where I am going wrong on this part, that's why I'm asking for your help.... dharper

That is why I am asking you to carefully go through the #s & you will see where you are going wrong in subtracting 1. You will not learn to subtract one if you are shown the answer every time.

If I don't know this concept, there is no way I can answer something I have no clue of. This is why I stated in the beginning I didn't know exactly what i was doing but I'll try. Sometimes you have to show a person the answer first and then how did you get that answer second. That's how a person learn... Now, if you care to go on with the rest of the solution then I am willing to learn, but if not, that's okay too. I understood how the number was being used, after windycity posted it..And I was able to follow along then with the subtracting the 1's.... dharper...

Hi Windycity, I guess your answer was right. Thank you for showing me how to get the first part of the formula. I was able to understand what Laverne what talking about. but not until you showed me how...If you know the rest of this formula, please pass it along to me. Sometimes it takes others longer to get something then others. You just have to be patience. Thanks again, dharper
