CALottery is still the only realistic option for the common person to attempt to win $100k or million dollars, but comes at unfavorable odds, should be kept to a safe minimum so that is the reason I called it a pot shot. Casino gaming is the best option to try to win hundreds or even a few thousand, and maybe have a good time to go along with it.
I forgot to bring this up, last Thursday I got a survey invitation from the CALottery with regards to a new 2nd Chance program for scratchers.
There are 5 concepts they are looking at and will include some in their new system.
- $100,000 prize pool every week instead of $10,000 every 3 months
- More winners than ever without the top prize winner (a vague description)
- Each ticket is worth the number of entries by its denomination $1 gets 1, $5 gets 5 entries, $20 gets 20 entries
- Already seen in the Wheel of Fortune, a random number of entries per ticket entered
- Hundreds of players can win
They basically asked which one is the most beneficial to the least and such, but seems liek they are transforming it similar to the SLP/Fantasy 5 drawings. I mean it should happen since scratchers generate more revenue than anything they offer. I voted for 2nd and 3rd as the most important, and the 4th one as the least important.
Judging by this survey, I think the Lottery knows it has to do something, probably since their sales are declining. I see less and less entries for 2nd chance and games are reaching its end sooner than usual for the $1, $2, $3, and $5 price points.
