I believe it is not the state's job to hunt down lottery winners. If a person takes the time and money to buy a ticket, it shouldn't be that hard to go online and check the ticket. Only takes a minute and a couple of clicks.

Can't speak for all states, but Tx Lottery does not keep unclaimed money.

My comment will remain the same .....

I wonder why State lotteries don't put the same effort when a winner does not come forward to claim their prize.

You know, check the video at the exact purchase time and put out some photos of the winner

Or is it because the State gets to keep the money

Being required to show up in person at a state lottery office with a ticket what has won millions reminds me of John Wick 4 when he had to show up to a challenge on top of a hill. He had to fight his way up the staircase because people knew where he was going and why he was there.

It seems unsafe knowing that the people that go to a state lottery office become targets. Players can become targets from the time they buy tickets at retailer. All lotteries should give people the option to claim
