If you won a huge jackpot, who would you tell...
Nobody. You can bet your butt if I win on a Wednesday, I'll be standing at the front door of Hoosier Lottery headquarters the next morning at 9AM. Now, if I win on a Saturday, I'll probably spend all day window shopping/screen shopping on Sunday, then be at Hoosier Lottery headquarters 9AM Monday morning.

What actually happens when you win the lottery.
Tickets worth over $25,000 are usually only validated at lottery headquarters, but in some states tickets of any value can be cashed at lottery headquarters. A MM or PB jackpot winner will probably get more fan fair, but they will take your picture holding a huge check and might put it on their website. In Ohio, it took about six weeks to get the check a few years ago, but it may be quicker now.

Lottery Trust Fund
Would someone explain -- why do some lottery winners elect a trust fund instead of going directly to the lottery headquarters and processing the paperwork? So, if I won and I decided to have a Trust Fund set up in my name or some other name, would my public identity be known?Does my attorney rush to the lottery headquarters gasping for breath to do the paperwork -- while I sit out in the limo waiting for him or her to do my bidding? Finally, is a trust fund set up the way an annunity is provided?

Missing numbers on lottery ticket
The store clerk can't tell you what numbers you've played on that particular ticket. But lottery headquarters might or should be able to. Depending on how far away you live from headquarters or how important it is to you to know these numbers. Powerball tickets cannot be exchanged.

I accidentally called Federal Taxes fees. My bad. :)
In Ohio if the prize is between $600 and $5000, retailers will validate the ticket, fill out a W-2 and a form that the player gets motorized and then the player takes the form to a bank the authorized by the Ohio Lottery. Including driving, the process took about an hour. Ohio runs a player savvy lottery making it as easy as possible for players to collect winnings. For prizes over $5000, players go to a regional lottery office or to lottery headquarters where state and federal taxes will be ded
