Ontario Lottery recalls 92 tickets
Yet another reason why I refuse to play any lottery games in Canada...too confusing, too many dishonest convenience store clerks, and too many problems.

11 more retailers suspended by Florida Lottery
Here we go again, with the misadventures of dishonest store clerks and owners. That loophole he found, must be his gaping A-hole, that he just pulled his head out of. Jail time is in order.

Maryland liquor store owner charged in lottery scam
Hey be careful what you wish for you may really come back as a fly in the afterlife...LOL only kidding! Yes I agree she deserves to go to jail and i'm glad they did this undercover sting. More Undercover operations should be done like this in the future in other states too to crack down on scam artists who are willing to steal prize money from would be winners. It's a sad thing that we have dishonest lottery clerks like her working all over the country and the sad reality is that things li

Some lottery winning streaks have defied belief
Lots of ways to cheat da system! I've seen store clerk owners scratch $20 tickets, the whole roll, especially if it's a new game, all while I was paying for gas??? Think about it, if a new scratch off came out, potential to win $100K, $200K, OR ONE MILLION DOLLARS and all u get for selling it is a small percentage, wouldn't u scratch and get it all??? Clerks load up on all da triples daily! They figured it out is all I can say.... Don't hate the player hate the game! And no, if I scratch, I go t

Cheated lottery winner files lawsuit
The only thing he did wrong and his biggest mistake was trusting the Texas Lottery people and their agents to be honest and fair. I cashed a Ten-Oh ticket in Ohio that I thought was worth $52 but the clerk told me it was worth $407; I thought I matched 7 numbers on one of the lines but I matched 8. The clerk didn't know that I under valued the ticket when asked her to cash it, but what if I'd said check the ticket ? Sure, Willis' intelligence is questionable, but what about the intellige

N.C. man charged with stealing $1M lottery ticket
I suspect that NC-EL is not about to reveal it right now. In the courts though the lottery commission will have to present its evidence to the judge and jury. If it is a case of stealing a winning ticket from a customer then the lottery commission can rest easy. If its the infamous micro scratching then its a nightmare for the lottery commission because of all the publicity. Firstly, many dishonest and or underpaid store clerks nationwide will be tempted to do it seeing that these two almost

N.C. store clerk accused of stealing woman's winning lottery ticket
DD, that makes sense! In Florida there is a Race For Cash game. I think if you buy 5 lottery numbers you automatically get a voucher, but I've heard the sound of a race car revving up coming out of the terminal. So if they can program that into the system, they certainly can announce a winning or losing scratch card. I've watched the clerks scan tickets and the amount won is shown in the screen. I think a dishonest clerk could fool a customer by switching tickets. A customer should always as

Former MD Lottery employee pleads guilty of stealing tickets, cashing winners
$67,000 in winnings were supposed to go to honest people who BUY not STEAL the tickets for a chance to win. Scratch-offs are already hard enough to win but when ya got someone stealing winning tickets it doesnt make it any easier. It's a shame because if it's going on there, it's going on in a lot of other places too. I walk into certain stores and sometimes observe the lottery clerks scratching away at tickets. There is no way for me to tell if they have bought the tickets or not, so I some

Iowa Lottery requires winners to sign tickets
I agree with you, since that certainly could happen if someone doesn't ask for a receipt. I got a receipt when I won $72.50 in January, but I wasn't asked to sign the ticket. I guess it would also prevent a clerk or store owner from claiming a big prize at the lottery office, although when my tickets are scanned at Publix, I can see the total due. Still, if everyone would just check the newspaper, call the lottery or, if they use the internet, check their tickets online, there wouldn't be any th

Cheated lottery winner files lawsuit
I too saw his story on tv and to be honest, I felt bad for him. I realize he did not follow procedure and that is his mistake alone. You know what tho? Back in the day, before I became hip to the fact that there were dishonest, ahole clerks out there, well.... I used to hand my tickets over w/a smile on my face, just asking if I was a winner...... Call me trusting....call me dumb...it is what it was! Guess I could have potentially been one of those winners......that never even
