Florida man wins $10,000 lottery prize, state claims he owes money
Winner leaves Lottery office disappointed due to state's error By Kate Northrop A Florida lottery winner was ecstatic to win a $10,000 prize but left the Lottery claims office disappointed after he was told he owed the state money instead. An error on the state's part left a lottery winner confused about how much of his $10,000 prize he'd actually walk away with after he was told he owed a debt. Like any player who just won the lottery, South Florida resident Joe Cheung was both

DC man sues the lottery after incorrect numbers posted on website would have won him $340 million
When the case is dismissed, his attorney will probably have to sue for his fees. The complaint puts forward zero evidence to survive a motion to dismiss. The complaint relies solely on the wrong numbers being posted to prove fraud, etc. They even ask for punitive damages. Lol lol

Florida LLC revealed to have claimed $1.6 billion Mega Millions lottery jackpot
There is nothing suspicious about winning a prize in one part of a state and claiming it in another part of the state. Waiting is also not suspicious because they wanted to make sure they had everything in order. In most states one's name has to match identically on both the ID and social security card when claiming a prize at lottery headquarters. A lot of people don't realize this until they get to headquarters and have to file paperwork for new ID's and social security cards with matching nam

California man asks clerk to choose a lottery game for him, ends up picking out a ticket worth $10M
Since the clerk choose the ticket for me at my request I would tip nicely, it was a life changing amount. Your are going to pay 37% in Taxes in total based only on the 5.8 Million which equates to 3,654,000.00 after all the Federal Tax is paid. I would Tip the clerk 654,000.00 they will be responsible for any Taxes from that, it removes me from Tax Fraud allegations. California is very expensive so I figure 654 Thousand is not a whole lot in that State but better than zero. The store that receiv

Record $1.9 billion Powerball drawing delayed until Tuesday
I don't think Powerball is rigged , I highly suspect someone is trying to cheat by manipulating the protocol. Most likely in Virgin Islands or some other small municipality. Powerball prevented the fraud and kept the integrity of yesterday's drawing by delaying it until today.

VIDEO: Your state might not allow anonymous prize claims... or does it?
Great video Kate and thanks for the mention. Hopefully a day will come when all states realize the importance of anonymity. It seems like the largest conspiracy type efforts have been perpetuated by lottery employees since they have far more opportunity and internal access to commit lottery fraud. And if you are in a state that says there is no anonymity without further details, I would still try claiming with a LLC or trust. If the state lottery says no, it was still worth the attempt.

Scammer who conned UK National Lottery of £2.5 million given more time to repay funds
He could have done it again whilst he wasn't rumbled and when was on bail. I'd play it safe and add the rape charge to his jail sentence for the fraud charge.

I say tough. He had enough time and now he needs to pay or else it's life for the rape charge on to top of the fraud charge.
