Play to win and prepare for it. I always chuckle to myself when I hear people needing to take time to consult with financial experts and attorneys. Any lottery ticket is a worthless piece of paper before it's validated. Granted there are circumstances where it might be wise to consult a lawyer before going to lottery headquarters, but with no extraordinary problems the average player could consult a lawyer and have their ticket validated on the next day the lottery headquarters was open.

Plus, what if they lived far from the headquarters and don't come because they can't afford gas. I certainly hope that upon a no show, that the lottery headquarters would have called them afterwards to make arrangements to get the $150,000 to them. I too would validate the ticket before talking to anyone, though I would be validating at the local lottery offices and not the main headquarters. With that my attorney could contact the main headquarters with proof that we do indeed have the winning ticket and then we would move on to creating the trust and deciding when to collect. I'd also have to do that just so I would make myself believe I was really holding the winning ticket.
