claiming a instant prize
hi folks, complete noob here. I just won a few grand in a PA instant lottery scratch off. I know I have to go to the retailer to file a claim form but what exactly does that mean? Do they verify my ticket on the spot and file the claim? Or do they send my ticket into lottery headquarters? What if they lose it? I've never won anything more than $50 before so I'm pretty excited. Apologize for the noob question.

white line in scratch off tickets
I've heard about it and I've won some with them and lost some with them as a cashier told me the same thing but I don't think it's true......it's just plain luck. I've also been told the cards win at the first of the roll and the last of the roll by another cashier and that's not true either as I have won both ways. I think they are put in randomly as the people at the lottery headquarters told me.

Scratch-Off - Home or at the store
I usually scratch them off at home. Don't laugh now but I have my own little routine I do and it goes like this. On the way home from my part-time job, (I work 10 til 2pm) I stop by the store or stop by the local lottery headquarters here in town (I get a kick out of seeing the big winners come in) anyway I buy my tickets and come home and get my glass of iced tea and my scrapers, turn on the TV and sit back and scratch, scratch, scratch........there's something about having to have the glass of

Scratch off Secruity-retail level
I would guess that the person who is in charge of the lottery scratch off distribution knows which books have big winners in them. If they didn't it would be possible that a series of winning ticket books could end up in one or two zip codes instead of spread out across the state. There are numbers printed on the front and back of the ticket books/rolls these must be tracking codes as well as security codes. In Maryland if you have a winner they first swipe it thru a scanner. Then they type in th

Hi all, I'm new to the forums. I buy scratch offs around The Villages. The most I have heard of anyone winning in this area is $10k. The most I've won is $100. It's been interesting reading the past posts! A few questions Can you buy lottery tickets and scratch offs at lottery headquarters Do you find the machines to give better results than the counter? Any scratch off games you like right now? From reading past posts I understand that the number of the book is on the back of the tick

New NY Lottery Scratch offs for January
Not sure, I think the winner can go to any retailer to have their win 'processed' (not cashed) .. then they could go to the Lottery Office to cash it in. Here's an interesting story I just found out about ... I stopped at my usual place today to play my numbers, and the clerk told me that yesterday a man bought a $20 Win For Life Spectacular and won the $10,000 a week for life ($10,000,000) .. I was shocked!!! I asked her if she knew the ticket number but she didn't, but she said the 3 let
