California man collects $120M Mega Millions lottery jackpot
Maybe there's some hope for me yet. I matched 5of6 in Ohio Super Lotto ten years ago but that was so long ago it doesn't count any more. I was checking the MegaMillions sales figures for each state and Californians spend more money on MM tickets than any other state, no wonder there are so many stories about them winning the MM jackpots. Just proves if you keep buying tickets, one of them could be a winner some day. I wonder if the winner was one of his personal picks or a quick pick.

Delaware couple plans to pay Powerball winnings forward
I'm really tired of hearing stories like this In this case, I just happened to be at a store and picked up a Quick Pick ticket. It's like the only people who win are the people who just happened to be somewhere, and just happened to play when they never do, or just happened to have $1 left over after buying a candy bar, or just happened to be walking home and got the urge to play the game for the first time ever. One of these days, I want to hear about 1 person with 500 bucks, walking into

Was Iowa Hot Lotto decision a first?
Was the Iowa Hot Lotto decision in January the first time a claimant with a verified winning ticket did not receive their prize? Have there ever been similar stories? Has the opposite ever happened? Has anyone with a missing or destroyed ticket ever been able to collect? I remember a story from Texas about someone who burned part of a winner in a printer but had enough evidence that it was the winner and that he was in the store when the ticket was printed.

24 year-old Calif. man claims lottery riches
I am very happy for this young man and hope he enjoys his winnings. I have a feeling though, he will come to regret that press conference. There are just too many unscrupulous people out there who will do their best to seperate him from his money. I have read so many stories about lotttery winners who say if they could do it all over again, the one thing they would do differently is to keep quiet about winning. I have noticed that on the California Lottery Website it says that they are requir

Kentucky lottery winner donates entire prize to college
This story isn't any different than most as far as what it says about taxes, leaving it up to the reader to find out the truth on their own. Although it's in the fine print at the bottom of the page, you clearly say that the withholdings and the actual taxes owed are different things. Very few articles mention anything about the actual tax obligations, and many will say something along the lines of after taxes, the money would come to $7.6 million a year for 30 years or a lump sum of $110 mill

Part 2. If you won the lottery!
Why do most people hound lottery winners? So, are the following people immune from the bloodsuckers: Oprah; Donald Trump; Warren Buffet; Jim Carey; The Rockefeller dynasty -- third and fourth generations; all the Hollywood superstars, including rap-artists; sports figures; and other assorted rich folks. Now, if Oprah did a show on the lottery pitfalls -- winners and losers -- maybe she should have offered some positive feedback, e.g., how she now manages to keep her money, avoiding all the sad-s

California's 91 Million Dollar Winner
Today I picked up a copy of Lotto People magazine. Interesting article on Patricia Frierson; who won the Ca SuperLotto August 9. Thought I would share a little of the info; as we often wonder if they took the cash and if it was qps or their own numbers. She was a 55 year old widow living in a motel. She was actually waiting for escrow to close on her new town house. Worked 23 years in a chemical processing plant.Using a combination of the same numbers she always bets; she bought five plays- one e
