Question about claiming lottery proceeds via a trust
You don't need to be an attorney if you're not acting as an attorney. In theory any adult can do everything necessary to claim the prize on behalf of the winner without being an attorney just as the winner can do it for themselves. If anything requires acting a

Have you ever found a winning scratch ticket on the ground or in the trash.
I have. I was walking to the gas station with my sister and on the way there I found a ticket I thought was a winner so I took it to the gas station and had them check it out and sure enough it was a $2 dollar winner. So I cash it in and buy a $2 ticket and win $30 on that one and then I took her out to lunch. Anyone got any stories.

CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
It's so hard to not wonder why these areas in the middle of nowhere or the poorest areas always seem to have the winners and they come from dumpy little stores? I honestly have a hard time not believing that the balance is tilted to seed areas of low income with winning tickets because it makes the system look good and provides feel good stories. In reality, who is going to be happy reading a story where the million dollar winner came from a Vons Pavilions in Newport Beach, CA and the winner

They posted the $5 LL winner, and he made the news too! (San Diego, strike one for SoCal) http://www.calottery.com/win/winner%20stories/kevin-boson And he's going to take the annuity. Not a bad option, as he's retired and this will give him steady income stream that falls well under the top tax bracket.

$400 million S.C. Powerball winner to stay anonymous
Congratulations to this massive, single ticket holding, Powerball jackpot winner! Can't help but wonder if this winner's stories about searching for hot dog buns and being only a second time Powerball game player were true. If one or both were true, did the man spend the full $20 on Powerball lottery tickets, or did he get change in order to buy those hot dog buns with? Did this winner ever come home that night with hot dog buns [and did his wife care]? Kudos!
