World's biggest lottery draw sets new record
There is a guy here who will accuse of the 'greed of envy' lol whatever that means. I always want to ask him who is greedier, the one who takes all or the group that divides it 10 ways. But reasoning with him is impossible so I just ignore him. If this el gordo thing was available here, I'd play it before I play powerball or megamillions. Thats for sure.

If you were able to design your own lottery game...
I would do something like the El Gordo lottery - Big prizes and guaranteed winners via a raffle. I know a lot of lotteries do rafles, but it's usually a once-a-year thing. It should be every week. We'll call it PowerRaffle or MegaRaffle.

Idaho Lottery's $1 million raffle almost sold out
That's another thing that it is suspicious. All these raffles are done by a random number generator(computer generated and not drawn in front of the public, like that El Gordo drawing) which is another reason to be suspicious

The First Time You Play the Lottery Games
I don't remember what year I first started playing lotteries but it was the Irish sweepstakes, (based on Irish horse races), which were illegal here but we played them anyway. There was also a Spanish lottery called the fat one (El Gordo) because the prizes were so big. Some of the Powerball and MegaMillion Jackpots now make it look puny. When New York got its first lottery the Irish sweepstakes died and the rest is history, I've been playing ever since.

After the Big Win
I think my purpose for the day would be to have fun...snowboarding, bungee jumping, kite surfing, visiting family, teaching my nephews how to do the same thing. Aftrwards I think I would volunteer more at shelters (animal and human...or maybe start one of my own). For me to quit I think 5 million or so would do it (after taxes)...to go insane and not give a hoot...I think I'd have to be the only winner for el gordo...lol

Idaho Lottery raffle made a millionaire tonight
I personally love the raffles every year. I wish we had the equivalent of El Gordo in the USA, but I'll take the closest thing to it.

Added Maryland raffle bonus draw results
It is most certainly a computer that draws the numbers. I think El Gordo is the only game in the world to draw a huge raffle with a lottery ball tumbler. Have you seen the size of it? And it takes hours.

Who Is Really Going To Teach You How To Win??
I believe playing this way is very scary, we play once a year the El Gordo (the fat one) in Spain, but we have immediate family there, and I know where they live. We also receive the tickets before the draw, maybe I'll post a couple, from prior drawings they are actually pretty neat looking. LOL jarasan

Lottery mega-jackpots generating less 'buzz'
Thank you very much!! They've reached the point of no return already unless they combine into an El Gordo or something equally extravagant.... and I believe that would be a slow agonizing death for both.

Calif. Lottery hops on raffle bandwagon
California is under the false impression that people are turned off by the 20 dollar price tag, but they almost are forcing you to buy 4 so you get 1 free. Another case of the old bait and switch. Until an El Gordo like 70% payback raffle hits the US forget it. Sure your odds in most of these raffles is 125k to 1 to win the grand prize but at 20 dollars a ticket its 2.5 million to every dollar. Almost lotto like.
