Illinois Lottery sells tickets for instant games after top prizes are gone
I really don't expect better from an extremely corrupt state (I live here) but there is such a thing as Buyer Beware . To their credit, the Illinois Lottery provides weekly updated information on scratch tickets on their website. Players SHOULD reference the information before purchasing tickets. Unable to post a link but if you go to the Illinois Lottery website, then WINNING and then select UNPAID INSTANT GAME PRIZE LIST from dropdown menu, you can see all unclaimed prizes for all scratch game

Congrats, Vergie! You can make up for all of the bad luck I've been having with scratch games. Glad to see someone is winning!

It has been over a year and still staying on budget.
Thanks and congrats to you for staying on budget! In terms if scratchers I believe when a new scratcher comes out the lottery usually has 1 or 2 people win the jackpot in the first month so that's why I play once when the new ones come out. Though I only play a new 20 dolar one so skip the majority of new scratch games.

The Lottery Was Not Created For Poor People To Play
By your logic, only middle class and rich people play $5 scratch games. We all know that's not true. By Todd, Northrop.https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/283142

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
I think I am in the same boat. I have a budget that I stick to, but I get very nervous buying more than 2 $20-25 scratch games at a time. Once I bought 4 of the 100x Cash and only won back $40. I had a winning streak one weekend where I got between $100-$500 on several tickets all from diffrent stores. It was really just pure luck. No strategy.

30 dollar scratch tx in MA tempting me when I've been doing so well on my budget
Listen to your realistic side. High denomination Scratch games are for high rollers. Like that special roped off high-limit area in the center of the casino with $5 and higher slots and big bet tables. Just look at the Scratch-Off forum, people playing $20/$30 tickets can easily spend hundreds or thousands per week. If your lottery budget is only like $30 a week, can you buy just 1 $30 ticket and satisfy your lottery fix, and not play any more lottery games at all? Or if you want to buy en

Time away from Lottery
I haven't played in 2 months. I was on a bad losing streak and was tired of both losing and wasting my money. I have thought about playing recently but right now there aren't any scratch games I am interested and PB and Cash 5 JP's aren't that high. I dont really have an interest in MM anymore.

Have you ever sold your WINNING TICKET to a 7-11 clerk?
Yes, this has been reported in many news stories and undercover busts, catching clerks doing this. It happens a lot with Scratch games. Some people would prefer not to deal with the taxes and reporting for a $600 claim. So they make a deal with the clerk to give them a lesser amount in cash. The clerk can then easily scoop up bunches of losing scratch games from the trash can to offset any wins that he claims, so it would appear that there is no net income from those wins on his returns. It's
