You Won 50 Million Playing PowerBall Decided to Become an Investor. Is Your Adviser Honest?
Imagine you hit a $50 million jackpot and you've decided to become an investor. Therefore you'll need to hire an investment adviser. You're told the adviser you've just been introduced to is honest, but how can you be certain he or she truly is honest? The short answer is you cant be absolutely sure your newly found financial wizard is honest. For the record, the vast majority of financial advisers are completely honest. But then, some aren't. Also, your new adviser might be honest these day

We have 6 Internet Cafes in Ohio
Talk to management about creating a rule that prohibits other LP members from disagreeing with threads and posts. Good luck with that because civil disagreement is part of discussion and without it, there is no Lottery Post. Fact 1, I gave a link to a Cleveland Plain Dealer article that clearly stated the $10 is the largest legal cash payoff these places can give. Fact 2, The article quoted the Ohio Attorney General as saying many of these places are fronts for illegal activities.

Lawyer gives up $14 million Iowa lottery ticket claim
What's even more interesting is a report this evening about how the trust had been established AFTER the lottery drawing had taken place, meaning this investment trust was more than likely established for the sole purpose of shielding the lottery proceeds, meaning it wasn't established earlier by someone rich as a general investment trust the lottery win just happened to be something they'd add to an already large pot of cash. We've had many discussions about creating a trust so the winner

Where's rdgrnr ?
Evidently Ambelamba is against legal immigration and for illegal immigration. I wonder what other illegal activities he/she is for or against? Bank robbery? Probably for unless his/her bank is the one being robbed. Rape? Probably for unless the rapist hits close to home. Murder? Probably for unless the murderer lives on his/her same block. Capital punishment? Probably against unless the victim is a member of his/her family. But this thread is about Tennessee Ridge Runner and wher

Something that Concerns me...Illegal Lotto System = Terrorrist Act...
The thing is that it simply displaces investment from other sources of income. These are all things that the government is expected to do, all that raising the money from lotteries does is reduce the amount the needs to be contributed from general funds and hence repurposed to something else. They may be saying that the lotto is for the education system but in fact it just allows them to divert money that would otherwise have been used for the education system for something else, some of which

Should PB MM be tax-free/lump sum
It's not that gambling winnings are taxed. Income is taxed, except when it's exempt for some reason. Should lottery winnings be tax-exempt? Most lottery winnings are already exempt in practice, since most of the payouts are under the reporting threshold. I don't know about the rest. If I won I'd sure like it, but if the guy across the street is lucky enough to get a few million bucks I don't see much of a problem with him paying taxes on it. I do think that legitimate losses shouldn't be limi

Why the US is turing into a facist country
I just don't understand simple minded people! Heck, I think it's as plain as the nose on your face! If someone has illegal gains/money from an illegal operation (of any kind), of course all money, property and other assets will be seized. The government has no way to distinguish what had been acquired legally or illegally, that burden falls on the accused! So, with that said, the government has no other choice but to seize everything until said accused provides proof that some of those assets th

Critics raise questions as retailers play by the rules and win scores of jackpotsNew Jersey's 10 most frequent winners of lottery jackpots have one thing in common: Luck. But five of those top 10 winners have something else going for them: A store that sells lottery tickets. We play, we win, explained Mahendra Vora, standing behind the counter of Everything Nice, a stationery store on Bergenline Avenue in West New York that he owns with his wife, Sudha.Together, the lucky couple has claimed 175

Offshore gambling site laundered $2 million in Amazon gift cards, Feds say
I assume 10nickels is a JOKE !!! This offshore online gambling company that offers casino and lottery gambling is SHADY, SHADY, SHADY !!! I'm surprised TODD even wrote an article about this company !!! We are not supposed to mention the company in this article on LP !!! LP Members who use this company's services to play online, should view their illegal activities as a RED FLAG, that the company's days are probably numbered !!! It would be a WISE IDEA for LP Members to CLOSE their AC

What would the experts do with a lottery jackpot?
I'd question anyone deterring the investment in real estate. It rarely drops and if given the right location one can fair well in the real estate market. Its equity not a liability. Buying acrage is the first step. Why? Because at some point a city will expand and when it does, its the local builders who will salivate and bid ridiculous amounts to get the rights to that property. My co-worker is already in this market.Bought farmland (25 acres) at 42k because it was so far out in a rural area.
