Nevada governor signs online gambling bill
Gov. Brian Sandoval signed legislation Thursday legalizing online gambling in Nevada, capping a dizzying day at the Legislature as lawmakers passed the bill through the Assembly and Senate as an emergency measure.
Nevada wanted to beat New Jersey, its East Coast casino rival, to the online gambling punch. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie previously vetoed an online wagering bill but has indicated he may sign an amended version next week.
Sandoval and Nevada legislative leaders said it was im

But proposals to amend the state constitution and legalize lotteries have failed 23 times since 1975.A poll taken by the Rev

Ultimate Poker to become first legal, real-money online poker site in US
I am curious how they will keep people who are not Nevada residents out. I wonder if using a dialup internet account in Nevada would get around the IP address thing. As for an address, a mail drop in Nevada might solve that and as for a Nevada phone number, that's easy to get too. It will be interesting.

Nevada Lottery Proposal Killed
Nevada may be a gambling state but a Senate panel decided on a 5-2 vote Thursday that a lottery is one game of chance the state can do without.Sens. Nevada Assembly passes lottery measure
Passage of Nevada lottery bill is only the first step in a four-year processA resolution to legalize a Nevada state lottery was approved 33-9 Monday in the Assembly after supporters emphasized profits would buy textbooks for schoolchildren. Nevadans already buy lottery tickets, said Assembly Speaker Richard Perkins, D-Henderson. They buy them in California. California kids have schoolbooks. Nevada kids don't. In an earlier hearing, Perkins cited a poll showing that 73 percent of Nevadans suppo

Lottery proposal faces long odds in Nevada
Motivated by a struggling education system, Nevada lawmakers are trying for the 23rd time since 1975 to establish a statewide lottery by amending the Nevada Constitution. They say a history of failures and past opposition by the states dominant casino industry wont keep them from trying again.Advocates say a lotterys potential profits, after prizes and operating expenses are deducted, could generate from $30 million to $70 million each year for education money they say is sorely needed.Nevada ra

Lottery supporters in Nevada try again
Pumpi, you've said you live in Panama, so I'll just assume you've never traveled through Nevada. You keep writing that Las Vegas is the only place where people gamble. Since nobody else has responded to that comment, I will. Pumpi, that just is not true!
Gambling is legal in Nevada, not just Las Vegas. I won't list all the towns that have gambling, of course, since there are too many, but you can travel just about anywhere in Nevada to gamble. I mean, you don't have to go to a busy tourist pl
