I did feel cheated with the annuity also. But if you look at it they are still giving the same amount out as other lotteries. They are giving $5,000,000 of the $10,000,000 in tickets that they sold. They just put it a way to give one extra million dollar winner and better odds. I know Michigan never used to be into the annuity prize but now anything a million or more is an annuity now. I don't know what happened. They sold out of them pretty fast. I bought one the first day last sunday

Md sells 42000 and pays out 4 -1 million ...fla sells 625000 and pays out 10 1 million prizes but keep in mind these are cash..not annuity...and really the odds here are not too bad ..just that it stinks that they have to be soo greedy!

On this raffle drawing...seems like good odds, but then when i started looking closer at our raffles compared to other states, it doesn't appear to be that good after all. First and foremost is the pathetic greed of the good old MSL.....our $1 million is paid out in a annuity form as with all the other states it is CASH...just leave it to the MSL to come up with a way to cheapen the way you can win. Whats next...annutiy on the 4 digit payouts? ....LOL

The All States debate is kind of like the Cash vs. Annuity debate: it will never be settled, because both sides have good points. However, that's what makes it a good feature: it can be used by those who love it, and it can be turned off by those who don't.Because the feature can be ignored by people who don't like it, I personally don't understand when people have animosity against the feature. Maybe someone can explain it to me in rational terms, because I just don't get it.

Scratch-off Hit !
This is the wrong forum, but, here's my 2 cents:I will NEVER buy a ticket where the top prize is paid only through an annuity (in this case, $50,000 per year, 20 payments, NO cash option).

LOL Al, I hope it hits but a finder's fee is unnecessary. It's been a tough few months since I got dumped from my work at home customer support gig (probably sent the jobs to India), but I've cashed in a sizable annuity and I'm eating balogna and limited to a 12 pack of beer a week until it clears the bank... something about the size of the check that makes them want to hold it for two weeks. go figure. As soon as it's available I'll purchace a few more things I need for my new business, and a

Why is everyone acting like they don't know NCEL is stingy, and somewhat crooked. If you win a $1,000,000 scratch off in NY with all its taxes and withholdings, you get about $537, 000 and change. In NC, all $1,000,000 scratch offs are not truly the said amount. They tell you that $1,000,000 is always annuity payment. You get a payout after withholdings of $400k plus. Mind you we have less state tax than most places. Its NCEL, we just live with their shenanigans because they know we can
