NY Lottery and Anonymity
If I won I would not want to broadcast it to anyone, I usually buy tickets that don't offer big jackpots for this reason. to get a lawyer and do an LLC or trust is first you have to find a trustworthy lawyer and thats a tough search. other problems are your job and relatives. I could never do a press conference.

Numbers That Made The World
BBC World Service is broadcasting a series of programs on numbers, starting this week. It explores where they came from and their sacred and superstitious power in various religions. It should be interesting. BBC World Service is broadcast on many local FM stations, or check it's site.

Winning Mega Millions lottery ticket worth $56M sold in Michigan
Although I agree with you, sometimes there are people who broadcast it immediately like that man who paraded through town waving the winning ticket. Perhaps the Lottery was simply indicating that often a winner gets his/her ticket validated immediately at a retailer (which has happened many times.) Personally, I would try my best to keep it quiet until I make plans move, but not everyone feels the same way.

Retailer charged in lottery insider claim
I hope everyone got a chance to watch that video report. I love that the news station broadcast the press conference in its entirety.

Don't Forget 9/11
Too many people DO forget, or at least forget how they felt when it happened. I will NOT forget, and to help others remember I played a recording of a 9/11 radio broadcast from when it was happening. Ultimately this audio stream was removed from online.

Televised drawings
I used to watch the Powerball drawing every time because it came on during the 10 pm news broadcast on the station I always watch. They switched stations, and now it airs sometime between 9 and 9:30 pm on FOX, a station I'm never watching at that time, so now I never watch. So I guess I'm probably more in synch with the general public in this regard than with LPers.

POLL 3 of 3: Switching to mechanical ball drawings
If Indiana's legislature suffered an attack collective integrity and ordered the Hoosier Lottery to revert to real lottery drawings, I would begin playing again, provided the drawings were broadcast on live television across the ENTIRE state. If they failed to take this step, I would continue to avoid their games.

Unbroadcast Drawings
Nothing in Wisconsin is broadcast, because its all computer-picked numbers. You just have to trust that they aren't screwing around. Yeah, really.

describe how you got started with playing the lottery
It all started when I was very, very young. I always loved watching the Florida Lottery drawings and the Illinois Lottery drawings (which is nationally broadcast on WGN). And my dad always played the Florida Lotto, and I always saw him getting tickets come Saturday night (it was once a week affair back then). Top that with their Flamingo mascot, and I was hooked a decade and a half before I could buy tickets.
