Powerball lottery winner Edwin Castro's $25.5 million mansion nearly crushed by landslide
When the media, either through fires or mudslides shows these homes built precariously close to disaster it is no wonder insurance won't cover them. Had to chuckle when Marvisi said the government should cover the cost of home repair/debris removal. Fat chance, maybe your billionaire neighbor Castro could pay for it. As far as I've seen the city will clear debris only from public roads, not private property. Too bad so sad you're not entitled to one red cent Marvisi. OTOH Oregon lo

The Idiot Tax
Ignore the little jack asses that live in your head, they get everything wrong, they say. Doesn't matter where the taxes come from, property, sales, income, lottery, when have you last seen your tax dollars at work? The pot hole is still there, but they added a speed bump. That's about all government is, a bump in the road. BobP Excel at PE if you want to earn a living throwing things.

Maryland: 2/1 - 2/29/2024
I thought I read somewhere a couple of years ago the federal government also requires a gambling 'journal' showing what you bet/lost/won each day/event. Just found this from IRS To deduct your losses, you must keep an accurate diary or similar record of your gambling winnings and losses and be able to provide receipts, tickets, statements, or other records that show the amount of both your winnings and losses.

NY Dream Team 2023
NYL never disappoints. The scam continues even on Christmas eve. I was hopeful but silly me for believing I had any chance. Pissed away money so the government can take it and spend $70 on a paper clip. NYL screwjobs keep getting more frequent idk why I'm so stupid to keep playing when I can. I look at the stats and what's worked for me in the past...I start believing like tonight really believing only to get f#cked yet again. Yet another repeat. Sweet thanks NY. Can't wait to leave thi

What do you think of Grok's answer?
Unfortunately many of the world's ultra rich, so called elite, are nuts... Just how much money do these sociopaths need to be happy? Yea, never enough... At least when Al speaks he should divulge his conflict of interest between his hedge fund with David Blood, yes blood and gore... Generation Investment Management mostly investing in so called climate change tech... The real inconvenience truth... And by the way, Al did help invent the Internet by convincing the US government to fund/contin

The Idiot Tax
I've heard the lottery called the idiot tax, because it's when we give government our money and get nothing (services, etc) in return. But the BIGGEST idiot tax has to be when you play the Power Ball and there is 1 Billion at stake, and at the end of the 30 years you get only 2/3 of that. If you get the cash payout, for my state it's about 290 Million. OUCH! Will I complain if I win. No. But it just sucks seeing all the potential leave and go away to some faceless bean count

New bill in Wisconsin could allow some lottery winners to remain anonymous
Protecting Social Security #, give me a break. That has been in effect that I know of Federally since 1974. Many years ago my hospital employer would print out the hours an individual worked. It included your SSAN for anyone to dig through the pile to see. Yearly we had surveys to fill out which were anonymous. Said in mine if someone steals mine in violation of Federal law and I'd sue. Well they quickly gave everyone an AHS # to use and no more SSAN used. Fast forward two visits ago goi

Lottery Bible ~ Large Print
The government put forward a plan to limit overdraft fees. What it would do: Cap penalties as low as $3 when banking customers spend more than they have available in their accounts. If finalized, the rules could take effect next year. Why it matters: The fees currently average about $26, and have historically hit poor Americans hardest while enriching major banks, which oppose the proposed rules. . 300 260 326 871 526 . LBL
