What is your opinion on new WA state law
Exactly. Do they really think that the state law enforcement officials have time to chase down people playing lotto online? Hardly. They are too busy trying to catch real criminals and violent offenders. They don't really have time or resources to assign many of their law enforcement people to stop their real work and work on something like this.....it's all political feel good legislation.

OPEC Lottery
Sounds like hoax/ scam. The Illinois lottery home page provides a link to info. about illegal lottery scams: Cross-border fraud is a serious problem and it appears to be growing. For example, consumers in the U.S. and other countries lose billions of dollars each year to telemarketers operating from boiler rooms across the border who pitch bogus products, services and investments. They also lose money to Internet scam artists who operate anonymously from places outside the U.S. The most comm

Online Lottery Soon to be Illegal/new law
If its already illegal then people who already won and had money placed in their bank accounts could still be arrested in the future at some date. And even if a person reports their winnings for tax purposes, wouldnt that be like admitting that you broke the law by even playing the online casino lotteries? That would be like turning yourself in for breaking the law. They might round everybody up later I'm sure they keep tabs. All I wanna know is how much time do we have left before its over,

Many lottery Web sites offline
Hummmm I saw something the other day about some federal computers, in law enforcement mostly, being attacked by a virus ... wonder if the lottery sites run by a government-backed organization with a huge technology budget closed down to aid in preventing the spread of this particularly nasty bug. Headline was Computer virus strikes federal law enforcement computers; US Marshalls, FBI affected

Is it Legal if...............
I actually was involved with Law Enforcement for several years, and I still believe the system is highly corrupt. Although not all officers are guilty, there are many bad apples out there. You hear about senseless/unjustified beatings on the news all the time, and even worse Raids of totally innocent people's houses, and innocent people, and kids shot by Law Enforcement. You can find many news stories about that on the net as well. What was all that training for? Perhaps the quality of the tra

Iowa Lottery CEO Terry Rich answers your questions
Those ideals are absolutely important to the Iowa Lottery. It's our job to stay one step ahead of those who would attempt to break the law. We can't speak for other lotteries, but here, we think it's important that we provide for separation of duties and functions within our organization; maintain multiple layers of security; publicly release the names of winners; and work closely with law enforcement if and or when any concerns are identified.

II. History of Gambling in the United States Examining the history of gambling in North America suggests important conclusions that are useful today in considering policies related to gambling. The United States has had a long history of allowing some forms of legal gambling and a degree of tolerance of illegal gambling. Societal tolerance and acceptance of legal gambling can change rapidly. Scandals and political control by gaming interests have led to backlashes which result

Are Lotteries Rigged
as for the person on an earlier page of this thread mentioned/that they would have to identify exconvicts in order to manipulate the drawing away from them winning it, is idiotic in two ways. they dont have to manipulate the winning away from anyone, if they are simply not letting anyone win it.!the people who claim to have won milions of dollars . are front people usually 35-60 years of age who have signed a statement swearing to not reveal the truth. in texas the first people to win the lo

Illegal betting operations shut due to cash strapped States?
The cities that are struggling with their budget are coming up with all kinds of ways to raise revenue. The city of Atlanta GA has given the courts notice to prepare for an influx of speeding cases. Law enforcement officers are going to crack down on speeders. They say it's a matter of public safety and not about revenue. Well if that is the case; I wonder why they haven't did this before now. Traffic in Atlanta is speeding; and everybody on Atlanta Interstate speeds. I's going to watch this cra
