Here is the reply I got Unfortunately, no. While federal legislation has exempted state lotteries from a new law restricting interstate online wagering, it is still unclear at this time how the new law will impact the sales of Lottery tickets via the Internet. Guess I will have to keep after them, seems a little silly to have everything in place and not taking advantage of it. RL

I wish Oklahoma would get games like that $5 is our highest with a jackpot of $40,000-$50,000 no million dollar or even half/quarter prizes and they wonder why lottery sales are down. I asked the OLC why that is and they said legislation

Before Ohio passed casino gambling legislation, the West Virginia and Indiana casino parking lots were full of Ohio plates too. I haven't been there, but the Cincinnati casinos probably now have lots of KY plates in their parking lots.

The lottery's ability to go online was tucked into a 2009 state law that authorized a statewide construction program by raising taxes and fees on liquor, driver's licenses and candy bars. Nice one. Expansion of the lottery (tax) hidden in a tax increase legislation for an unrelated construction project as an earmark! WTG Illinois.

This is a great idea, I'm surprised a politician came up with it. Let's see if this great idea goes from legislation to actually making it to the Governor's desk to be signed and become law.
